You are separating obedience and works, but Scripture doesn’t. True obedience to God always produces good works, and good works are obedience in action. The real issue is not works vs obedience, but living faith vs dead faith. As James says, faith without works is dead.

Nice try, but what part of epistemological limits don't you understand? Do you know the difference between knowledge and belief? At what point is "I don't know" acceptable to you? You are telling us what we believe without first confirming whether the idea is genuine doctrine and enforceable on the saints, or whether it is speculation because it's a nice thought. Only idiots think this is a credible avenue to disprove anyone. The Catholic Church has many doctrines that are absurd to nobelievers. I certainly no longer believe them since leaving the Catholic Church and becoming a Latter-day Saint. But I don't go around criticizing my former religion, but in fact, love it and love my Catholic family and friends to this day.
