Right I hate being miserable, it doesn't suit me so let's look at the positives (won't take long). 1) The dryer hasn't even been looked at, let alone turned on 2) It's been the least stressful harvest of my life 3) I'll be able to spend more time with the herd & The Farm Manager during the school holidays & there's loads of empty grainstore space for them to learnt to bike in. 4) If it ever rains again I'll be in a good position to get the Oilseed Rape in early. 5) I still, through gritted teeth, love this stupid stupid career choice. On that note, let's do it all again next year, shall we? It has to be better? Right?! RIGHT?!?!

What pressures do people run on their rear radial (assume standard type) tractor tyres for in-crop work at this time of the year? Tyre wholesaler thinks < 30psi is “under-inflated”, and is trying to get out of replacing a tyre which failed after just a few months on this basis.

@SteveReedMP You are delusional if you think this will help new entrants to farming. Change the policy to link agricultural inheritance tax to business profitability. The issue here is the majority of farming businesses return under 1% EBIT! They can’t pay the proposed bill!

Half of farmland sold last year went to non-farmers including wealthy individuals trying to avoid inheritance tax. It's right that tax changes will ensure everyone pays their fair share - and young farmers can realise their dream of buying their own farm. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Inheritance tax is totally wrong, you earn income, pay tax on it, buy an asset which potentially has tax on it too. Then die, to only be taxed again passing it onto the next generation! The changes to inheritance tax relief on Ag land will destroy UK farming if not changed.
