Everyone who let your advocacy subs "slide" to save a few dollars this budget (and the consultants who encouraged it), just a question: How much will you have really "saved" if govt caves in to the left on diesel excise when they drop their budget? Or CGT discounts? Or any of the myriad other POLITICAL threats to your business? The best way to protect our industry is to financially support an advocacy group. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish!

@cosfarming @FilterDiscount Says it all. $331 for 23 bolts & 10 washers, including $60 freight. Staff member counselled (not to get these kind of parts from OEM) and bill written down but this stuff happens all the time (blue, green and red) and it’s getting out of hand.

For example, it would have been good to ask what levy payers thought about the GRDC decision to spend an extra $60m/year (or $600m over 10years) on mostly “blue sky” research in an attempt to spend the reserves down.

I recently did the @theGRDC grower survey. Did anyone else have the sense that it was designed to give the answers they wanted and, more importantly, to avoid the answers that they did not want!!

A word of caution to WA CBH members, be careful about what you let go. Capital & efficient operations are always a challenge for co-operatives & monopolies but don't be fooled by the lure of some cash & the fallacy of competition. Those looking to buy it are only interested in money & that will come from you one way or another. Those among you advocating to sell are also only interested in themselves & money. You control it, make it better...together!!

@agronomistag Yep, every tonne of grain, straw, fibre or meat that leaves the farm takes with it kilos of N, K, P, S and other nutrients. If you don’t replace them you are mining not farming. If you’re not replacing these elements you aren’t by definition sustainable.

Official GPA Levy Review shows that around 80% of WA grain growers support: (1) a reduction in the GRDC levy; and (2) more regular, grower-informed adjustments to the GRDC levy. abc.net.au/listen/program…

Also query how much seed is ending up in large admix, resulting in %adjustment ⬇️ for (heavy) canola seed. Impractical, if not impossible, to pick every seed out.

@farmersgrowit $650 for this breather extension for Macdon hydraulic oil reservoir. When I saw the price, I told M&S that I would get the local welder to make 3, return the genuine one and still have change out of $650. #outofcontrol #worldhasgonemad

Did a maintance job on the header and had these left over. Was going to throw them out till I got the bill at $145 for the 2 nuts and bolt!😬. Promptly sent them back! …..Note pricing is set by CNH , not local store. #bendover

This is NOT WAFarmers policy, nor can it be until it is considered and passed at council level (in this case General Council). It is actually improper to be publishing zone motions in this way.

@GrainGrowersLtd As a (joint) RO who speaks directly to the Minister on this matter (ostensibly representing growers), what you take from this process, directly or indirectly, is important - so it is CRITICAL that the process is robust, reliable and defensible.
