Across the province this Saturday, March 28 there are ‘Fight Ford’ protests planned in dozens of Ontario communities. One organizer said, rallies are happening because residents are “tired of his policies that ignore the input of experts and thousands of diverse citizens.” Locations are below. #onpoli insidehalton.com/news/fight-for… via @InsideHalton

@CHCHNews I wish the headlines gave a clearer picture of what this actually is and examine how little this will actually buy, especially when you consider necessities like paper towel must come out of it. Teaching for over 20 years - never bought that out of my own pocket. #onpoli

A classic example of @fordnation and how he operates. Consult no one. Do the flashy statement for political effect then the policy implementation is a mess. @ETFOeducators spend massive $ in classrooms and this acknowledges that. But #onted is underfunded and that’s still true.
Elementary Educators@ETFOeducators

In response to Ford's $750 classroom supplies announcement today, @etfopresident said, “For years, educators have spent hundreds of dollars of their own money to ensure students have what they need. If the government is finally acknowledging this reality, it’s long overdue. But let’s be clear. Educators cannot be bought, and our commitment to strong public education is not something this government can purchase with a pre‑bargaining announcement. The real issue that needs addressing is this government’s ongoing refusal to address the chronic underfunding that forces educators to subsidize classrooms out of their own pockets in the first place." @ColinDMello Teachers have to use vouchers to buy TP for their schools, but he has billions for his friends to build stuff in Toronto that nobody wants. I really hope parents wake up and realize the damage this uneducated fool is doing to our schools.

Shame! Yet another attack on education. Ontario’s future relies on our youth. First he makes cuts to destroy our public education system and now he’s cutting OSAP to make post-secondary an unattainable dream for our kids. @fordnation, why??? #onted
Colin D'Mello | Global News@ColinDMello

Post-secondary students are now planning a Queen's Park protest over the changes to OSAP. Premier Ford - whose government is about to run a half-a-trillion dollar debt load - says students should be "held accountable" for taking taxpayer dollars. #onpoli

Ontario’s education minister is hiring two advisors at $1,500 a day to review why EQAO results aren’t improving. Critics say the answer is obvious: “we don’t need people making $1,500 a day to tell us scores are down because the government cut funding by $1,500 a student.”

I'm angry. Imagine your child comes home struggling. Class sizes are too big. There aren't enough supports. You turn to your school trustee – who you elected – for help. But they're gone. Fired. Replaced by one of Doug Ford's insiders in Toronto paid $365,000 on the public dime who doesn't know your kid's name, your school, or your community. You leave messages. Still nothing. Your voice doesn't matter anymore because Doug Ford decided it shouldn't. And that's just scratching the surface of Bill 33.
Ontario NDP@OntarioNDP

#BREAKING: We have been informed that Bill 33 is going to a final vote TODAY. This new law would fire elected trustees and replace them with Conservative insiders, silence parents, and cut crucial student services. We’re using every tool we have to delay the vote. Stay tuned.

This afternoon, @ETFOpresident David Mastin stood alongside NDP Leader @MaritStiles, MPP and Education Critic @ChandraPasma, and affiliate presidents to warn against the passage of Bill 33. This is yet another distraction by the Ford government to turn our attention away from the devastating chronic underfunding of public education. #onted #onpoli

Critics are blasting the Ford government for forcing school boards to pay school supervisors a hefty $350,000 annual salary, which Education Minister Paul Calandra calls an appropriate amount of money. toronto.citynews.ca/2025/11/05/edu…

So the Ford appointed supervisors will make more than all School Board Trustees combined, and that money will come out of the education budget that’s supposed to go to student needs. Shame! #topoli #onpoli #onted

“The education funding formula, last fully reviewed over 20 years ago, has systematically failed elementary students and schools," said @etfopresident David Mastin following today's fall economic statement. "For nearly three decades, special education, programs for English language learners, supports for student mental health, and school operations and maintenance have been chronically underfunded. This is deliberate neglect, mismanagement, and a direct attack on children’s right to a strong public education.” ETFO demands province fix the outdated #onted funding formula MEDIA RELEASE: etfo.ca/news-publicati… #onpoli
