My 79 year old MIL fell 4 weeks ago. She told us 2 weeks ago and finally agreed to X Ray last Monday. She has been walking on a fractured hip. Hip replacement last Wednesday, sedation, not GA. Home this Monday. My FIL can only open a tin. I am currently supplying food! #2025

I just deleted my post about how many sober days I had under my belt. The last time I did that, some woman said, "Come back when you've done 3 years." I shouldn't let people like that bother me, but it did hurt my feelings a bit. So, yeah. For anyone who cares, it's 48 days.

🚨Two female Met Police officers were sent to a domestic disturbance in Sidcup. 🚨 It should have been routine relatively straight forward, although domestic incidents rarely are... The officers who responded were beaten so badly, so ferociously and with such force that they were rushed to hospital, one with multiple facial fractures, the other with a serious injuries, including a broken nose. One officer has only just been discharged. We only found out nearly three weeks later. 🧵👇

1195 days since I really understood what unconditional love meant. I know it's the mothers job to raise their children but as Orla's father I'm happy to babysit as much as I can. I truly believe babysitting dads are the unsung heroes of society and that needs to change.

@IllusionExotic Not entirely true. Perhaps looking in the wrong place? I have read so many unique and wonderful independently published works, in fact I find trad published books now too samey and too many by those already famous. It is their name that sells the books rather than the writing.

Much of indie fiction is simply fan-fiction or poorly-crafted knock-offs of established, traditionally published works. Regurgitation after regurgitation. So little I've found breaks new trails, but those are usually true gems. I want to find more gems.
