Yes. Children on the transplant list must be thoroughly screened for COVID infection as it can cause postviral kidney graft vasculitis and threaten their transplant.
“Because the diagnosis of COVID-19 is challenging in children, we recommend viral monitoring of pediatric patients on the transplantation waiting list and of their parents by monthly combined serological and RT-PCR tests.”

That isn’t what this shows at all. No “mice got sick from Long Covid blood.” You don’t seem to understand what you’re reading, or just headline grabbing without understanding.
Read it all.
“In conclusion, our study has demonstrated that passive transfer of IgG from Long COVID patients to mice results in distinct patterns of altered sensory sensitivity and locomotor activity, suggesting the fundamental role of IgG in the heterogenous pathogenesis of Long COVID. Thus, establishing a murine model that mimics Long COVID pathology can present a promising avenue for advancing our understanding of Long COVID pathophysiology and promoting development of targeted and personalized therapeutic interventions.”

@frogess33 If you actually read the study, the mice didn't get sick, they had a statistically significant difference in walking distance at one, and only one, timepoint, because the controls walked more at that timepoint than any other one.
No other differences were observed.

No. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate (vitamin B9). Since the late 1990s, countries like the U.S. have added it to grains to prevent birth defects—especially neural tube defects like Spina bifida and Anencephaly.
•After fortification began, these defects dropped by ~20–35% in many populations.
•It’s particularly important because many pregnancies are unplanned, so women may not be taking supplements early enough.
English

@ElephantSignal @SecKennedy, please ban folic acid out of all foods! 🙏

🚨BREAKING: Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announces "folate deficiency in a child's brain can lead to autism."
And an "exciting therapy" for kids with autism: leucovorin. Up to 60% of deficient children can have improved communication if they take it.
GREAT NEWS. This is groundbreaking.
Do you firmly support this?
A. Huge Yes
B. No

@ElephantSignal I though RFK Jr was saving America from the pharma industry. Instead he's helping them make money. FDA enlisted GSK to help it fast-track approval of Leucovorin just months prior to this announcement.

@teacher9_golden @ElephantSignal They shouldn’t take medical advice directly from Trump or RFK Jr.
English

@ElephantSignal And how many leftist children will be denied a treatment because their parents will never take great advice because of who its coming from. Tragic
English
LoveRules أُعيد تغريده

@ElephantSignal No no no. Some autistic kids can have folate deficiency but holy shit it is not a cause.
He is only saying this because Fake Dr Oz sell unregulated and untested supplements for folate deficiency…
Come on people
English

@ElephantSignal Unfortunately people hate Trump more than the want to help their kids with autism.
English

This is a good treatment for the small subset of autistic children who have a folate deficiency (but should not be sold to all autistic parents as a treatment for their children, as there is no reason for it to work for the majority who do not have a folate deficiency).
So I'd have to say "yes", with caveats it is not oversold and not inappropriately marketed to children without folate deficiencies.

🚨BREAKING: Sec. Marco Rubio just put the fake news IN THEIR PLACES after they REFUSED to listen to a word he says!
"Listen, let me explain to you guys this in SIMPLE. ENGLISH. OK?" 😂
"Iran is run by lunatics, religious fanatic lunatics. They have an ambition to have nuclear weapons. They intend to develop those nuclear weapons behind a program of missiles and drones and terrorism that the world will not be able to touch them for fear of those things."
"And this is the weakest they've ever been. Now is the time to go after them."
"The president made the decision to go after them, take away their missiles, take away their navy, take away their drones, take away their ability to make those things so that they can never have a nuclear weapon."
"That's why the president made this decision. It was the right decision, and the world will be a safer place when these radical clerics no longer have access to these weapons. You see how they're using them now."
"Imagine how they would use them a year from now if they had more of these."
Do you firmly support trump on this?
A. Huge Yes
B. No

@davepl1968 My wife saw it live. They rolled a TV into her classroom in 4th Grade and the kids all watched.
No way they would have shown the replay to a bunch of 9 year olds, once they knew what happened.
There was a teacher, Christa McAuliffe, on board. Teachers were really excited.

@davepl1968 I don’t know about that. We were watching live at school, since it was a big deal that Christa McAuliffe was on board. I remember it distinctly, because they had rolled a tv into science class so we could watch.
English

@davepl1968 It was shown in most classrooms at the time because of Christa McAuliffe
English

@davepl1968 Objectively wrong. Christa McAuliffe was a school teacher and a LOT of schools had it on across the country because of that
English

Because Christa McAuliffe, the school teacher, was one of the astronauts many people of the Gen X generation did watch it because we were in school and they wanted us to see a teacher go into space.
I was in second grade at Jackson elementary in Greeley, Colorado and I did see it happen live.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
English

This guy obviously wasn’t alive when the Challenger exploded.
I’d bet 90% of American schoolchildren saw it happen live right on their classrooms, watching the first teacher go to Space- Christa McAuliffe

I remember Columbia, not Challenger, but I think this is wrong. Teachers competed for Christa McAuliffe’s spot. There was a full court press on incorporating Challenger into elementary education. It wasn’t typical to watch a shuttle liftoff, but Challenger’s was intentionally broadcast to schools.
