The only solution to this is the exact opposite of what the NDP is offering. Until we start locking up violent offenders for life, regardless of their addiction or mental health issues, this will continue to occur. The tyranny of root causes has to come to an end.

Anyone wonder why a high speed train plan needs to go Montreal to Quebec and be paid for by all Canadians? Anyone wonder why feds aren’t pumping a high speed train between 2 of Canada’s largest city’s that are less than 300k apart & run past 2 huge international airports? Darn

Nice 'Team Canada' approach over there, @Dave_Eby . Maybe next time operate in good faith to find solutions to legitimate concerns instead of blocking AB and SK energy development outright. "An October 2025 internal briefing note obtained by the Western Standard under B.C.’s freedom-of-information laws and heavily redacted under sections 12, 13 and 17 — titled “Action to Respond to Alberta’s Proposed Oil Pipeline” — explicitly states that “Alberta is keen to get the project approved in the current environment” and orders officials to “mount the counter case”".

That was quick…the draft cooperation agreement on environmental and impact assessment between Canada and Alberta is now final, immediately after the 21 day public consultation. pitched the city of toronto on a free hackathon where builders use public open data to solve real city problems. top AI lab funding the grand prize. zero cost to the city. during the biggest tech week in the country. their answer: "concerns about branding." so it got killed by "leadership" the data is public. the builders are ready. the city said no to people volunteering to fix their problems for free. so we're doing it anyway. every participant gets API credits. winners get cash prizes, credits, and merch. judging panel includes engineers from the lab itself. we need two things: 🏢 a venue partner - if your company, university, or org wants 150 of toronto's best AI builders in your space for a day, dm me.
