He's not wrong. Gaming has historically been a male centric hobby. Marketing and games were aimed at males. Women entered the hobby and tried to co-opt it instead of assimilating or making their own subcommunities and for the most part ruined it. Now some women have assimilated and should be commended, but the ones that haven't fucked the scene.

Video games are a male hobby, the difference is men are fine with you being in their hobby as long as you're not annoying. It's sort of like how make up is a predominantly female hobby/industry. Men aren't bitching that you guys also get 75% market share of every clothing store either, cause we get it. Women buy more clothes than men it makes sense. Just like how men buy more video games than women do. But it's funny how only one side of this upsets you

If i wear mens jeans, do the jeans need to be called everyone jeans? I like them because they are mens jeans i dont want the jeans to change and i certainly wouldnt like them if they changed because what atrracted me to them was that they were mens jeans. Okay, now you've strawmanned my position. I never once said that they shouldn't play games. I said that they need to assimilate and partake in gaming culture. In fact I've said that I've said that the ones who did assimilate deserve respect, so fuck off with that. If you don't like that, don't partake or create your own sub culture don't engage in the main one. This stupid argument that minorities don't have power, they do have power, it's why gaming has gone to shit the way it has. People are siding with me over time because this is the case. Games are selling worse, people are being more vocal, bad studios are being shut down. What I'm saying now is slowly becoming the status quo. Now do you have grifters in the scene? Sure, like Yorch and Jon Del Arroz, those bozos can get out of here, but there are genuine voices in the scene.

@jacky9902 @aeretix_ Except this is the case. Look at Halo, God of War, Uncharted, Perfect Dark, Dragon Age. I can go on and on. in the case of GoW it's not a spinoff the devs have said it's a mainline title. Companies have been bleeding money and they're doubling and tripling down.

Except it's not a few, the minority are the ones that assimilated and played regardless. While it hasn't been a single hobby if you separate the hobby into genres. The point is, when ideologues come in they fuck up the communities, try and claim it as theirs and they've always been here when they haven't because it shows, from writing, to graphics to general feel. If choice is a part of gaming then, people have the choice to gatekeep as well.

Gaming has never been a single, uniform hobby it includes countless genres,communities, and audiences If a game isnt your taste that's fine nobody is forced to buy it/play it. Choice has always been part of gaming.

You can use psychological tactics sure, that's part of persuasion but the point I'm making and claiming is that logical fallacies stemmed from philosophy long before psychology existed. Because the conversation when discussing gaming doesn't include mobile. When people discuss gaming they assume PC or console. When you factor that in, it's only about 18% of women who play console games and yet this minority has come into the space, destroyed a beloved hobby and now complains that men are the problem when it was their space to begin with. Now this isn't a dig at the women who have entered spaces and assimilated. Those ones deserve nothing but respect, but the ones who have tried to change it to suit them. They can fuck right off back to whatever hobby space exists for them.

Psychology has nothing to do with debate tactics. You're really showing how little you know. Philosophy is where these terms originated. You can literally date the a good deal of logical fallacies well before the existence of psychology as a discipline. You should look into dunning kruger. That's all I'll say on that.

Whatever mobile games, it doesn't matter if it's candy crush or fucking resident evil mobile. The point is the women that "game" number is heavily inflated by mobile gaming. It's used as an example. You think you're being smart by showing the numbers are lowering but 180 million players is still a massive number and the fact that there are 100s of clones that have the same gameplay loop doesn't change that those games are played by a majority female audience. Tldr; mobile gaming inflates this number, remove that and you have like 18% maybe 20 at best.
