Some of us expressed great concern about the Iran War when it was first launched. We were shouted down and condemned as “panicans” and “blackpillers” and even Islamist sympathizers. But it’s pretty clear from how things have gone that our concerns were absolutely reasonable and legitimate. Maybe Trump will get us out of this thing soon and it still won’t spiral into a long and drawn out war. But even if that happens — and I’m not convinced it will — no thoughtful person can deny at this point that the spiral and long war scenario is very much a possibility. No reasonable person, at this stage, can say that our concerns were irrational. What looks irrational now — and always did — is the demand for blind allegiance and unthinking “trust” in our elected leaders, as though we are called to have faith in politicians like we have faith in God.

I have never been a Democrat. My views align more closely with Republicans, but after the last 24 hours my disgust is paralyzing.
I have not supported a third party because I remember when it handed Bill Clinton the presidency.
I signed the petition for the Convention of States but remain skeptical because there will be no agreement.
What's left? I love our country. What can we do besides shout on X which doesn't seem very effective?

Only in our rotten city can someone like @NerdeenKiswani become a sympathetic figure. While I certainly do NOT condone violence directed at anyone Nerdeen is a vile and hateful antisemite. This is not my opinion this is an unarguable fact. When people like Nerdeen and Khalil are granted “victim status” by @NYCMayor you know we’ve basically lost our city!

It’s a white supremacist dog whistle referencing the antisemitic claim that Jews were expelled from 109 countries, implying the U.S. should be the 110th.
Add in the Jewish Star of David imagery and the smear equating Zionists (ie Jews) with pedophilia, and the antisemitic messaging becomes quite explicit.

A member of an offshoot of the Jewish Defense League — designated by the FBI as a "known violent extremist organization" — was allegedly building explosive devices to target the home of Nerdeen Kiswani in a chilling act of political violence. The defendant reportedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack.
This comes amid an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates.
I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers.
Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe.
Our city must meet hate with solidarity, and meet fear with an unshakable commitment to justice and to one another.

NYT shaken by my advice to founders to never talk to their journalists.
The truth is, no one trusts the media, and it's their own fault.
Too many anonymous sources, too many hit pieces and far too much bias.
The NYT isn't taken seriously, except by the far left -- and they're even losing them of late!
For leaders wondering whether to go direct, understand that the average NYT story gets 100-400k views. A breakout might do a couple of million.
In other words, the average NYT story is irrelevant when compared to the number of followers and listeners a founder can reach directly.
