@EHpops @joecarlsonshow Moving on is a good strategy when you have a shit argument. You keep asserting that they didn't know the basics because they were asking him to explain what he was doing to the audience. That isn't evidence of a lack of understanding the basics; it's basic interviewing.

That’s not the point. Any business or finance journalist should know at least basics about their subject matter/industry focus imo and solicit responses in an EDUCATED manner. I don’t know this guy running $GME and I don’t give a shit about him but he looked a tad dense to me and nothing he said should have elicited head nodding - like wtf would they be nodding to exactly. You got a dense CEO and you as a journalist need to deliver something for the audience that is semi intelligent - journalistic education would have made a difference. Anywho now bored with this topic so moving on

I usually agree with Shkreli on most subjects. But this is a terrible take.
CNBC's line of questioning was extremely straightforward and fair.
They did not ask loaded questions.
They did not try to ask any "gotcha" questions.
They did not accuse him or mock him in any way.
CNBC acted exactly how a journalistic entity should when interviewing a CEO.
They simply gave him an opportunity to explain the transaction and he acted like a petulant child.

@EHpops @joecarlsonshow An interviewer's job is to elicit useful answers out of their subject for the purpose of educating *the audience.* If they sat there knowingly nodding their heads and moving on every time he refused to give an answer of substance, it would've been journalistic malpractice.

Peeps at CNBC should have basic finance training. kinda like baseball announcer should know rules of baseball at the least … issuing stock and the mechanics behind it is as fn basic as it gets. Those talking heads are cringy AF generally - if there was an alternative to CNBC I would jump on it in a sec.

The Amazon driver is paid per package, not time. The driver is trying to deliver as fast as possible and move to the next delivery to get home at a decent time.

In a free market, I can’t sell bread at 100× the normal price. Competitors will undercut me, and even if I buy them out, new ones will keep entering. That cycle never ends. Predatory pricing fails because the moment I raise prices, customers leave. Cartels fail because members cheat and new entrants break in. The only reliable way to maintain a monopoly is through the state. By trading favors with politicians, I can use government power to block competitors under the guise of regulation, public safety, or national interest. In reality, those rules exist to protect cronies like me. This can only happen publicly when the government passes regulations, because regulations are the public face of cronyism. Thus contrary to what dumb socialists think, solution is to protest and ask removal of regulations not billionaires and capitalism itself.

This house is near a nice elementary school in my area.
In 1974, on a $12k teacher's salary, this home could easily be purchased for $18,700.
In 2026, teachers make $55k. They can't afford a $485k house.

Boomer here. I bought my first house after ten years of saving like crazy. And the interest was 14.5%. I don’t know where kids got the idea that they were due a house and new car at college graduation, but that’s NOT how it ever was.

An equivalent house s no harder to buy today than it was 52 years ago. It's just that buyers today don't want a tiny starter house on the fringe of the suburbs, which is what this was in '74.

People spend extra to buy NM to avoid damaged cards. Selling NM and negligently damaging them in transit makes people feel scammed

took gamers choice 2 weeks to ship and when they finally did they didn’t even sleeve my cards. not too much damage but definitely incredibly frustrating to receive my “nm” cards like this. will 100% never order from them again.
they weren’t even in the top loader either 💀

@Tyler_jedlicka @zooratpier The issue is that the cards were clearly damaged in transit and are in worse shape than they were at the point of sale. Hand waving that issue away by appealing to the definition of NM misses the point entirely and gives GC a pass for shoddy work. The customer is right to be mad.
