@marcthiessen It is painful to watch our country being destroyed, but the responsibility lies with the mullahs. When I talk to people inside Iran, many tell me the same thing: do what is necessary, just do not leave us with these fucking mullahs still in power.

In his post, Trita Parsi is once again parroting the exact talking points of the Islamic Republic and actively undermining President Trump: He twists Trump’s comments trying to rewrite history and shift all blame away from the regime. - He claims the mass killings during the January crackdown (7-8 January events) were largely the result of “ARMS" sent by the US and Israel. - He downplays the regime’s direct responsibility for the savage slaughter of mostly peaceful protesters, while cynically saying the regime “made little distinction” between armed actors and civilians and then pushes the number to around 7,000 deaths. -This is especially outrageous because President Trump himself has spoken of the death toll in the range of 45,000 killed by the regime. By repeatedly inflating the figure to 7,000 and framing the events as mostly the fault of foreign-backed armed groups, @tparsi is not only excusing the Islamic Republic’s crimes he is directly undermining and questioning President Trump’s own statements on the massacre. -Even worse, Trump clearly stated that the US “sent a lot of guns to the Iranian protesters, we sent guns through the Kurds, I think the Kurds kept them.” He completely ignores and covers up this crucial part. He refuses to mention that these Kurdish groups he vaguely refers to are the same separatist, treasonous elements who have a long history of collaborating with the Islamic Republic regime. They have repeatedly acted against the Iranian people, committed crimes against them, and may have even handed those weapons over to the regime or used them in coordination with the IRGC to help suppress peaceful protesters. This deliberate omission is no accident it is a calculated effort to protect the regime’s narrative and hide the truth about who really bears responsibility for the bloodshed. This is the same disgusting pattern we have seen from him for years: defending the regime’s repression, excusing its crimes against humanity, opposing any strong pressure on Tehran, and portraying every legitimate resistance by the Iranian people as a “foreign conspiracy.” Secretary of State @SecRubio Marco Rubio must step up and take immediate action. It is unacceptable that someone actively whitewashing a terrorist regime, twisting facts, and undermining the words of the President of the United States operates with impunity from American soil.The blood of the victims of the January massacre is solely on the hands of the Islamic Republic’s security forces, the IRGC, Basij, and the regime’s leaders noone else.
