Squeaky Wheels + Social Media -> Normalization of extreme ideas Gaslighting = Lying + Context (Coordination + Authority + Volume + Duration) Bigotry is the expression of ignorance and arrogance. To appreciate her man, a woman needs to see him fighting off the wolves.

I worry this war has INCENTIVIZED Iran to build a nuclear weapon What deterred Iran before was the threat of a war with the U.S. Well, that war has now happened, and Iran survived (one can argue it “won”). So there are a lot fewer reasons for Iran not to build a nuclear weapon now, and many incentives: it would give them the ultimate deterrent against any future wars. Everyone points to Libya vs North Korea: Gaddafi gave up his nuclear ambitions, and was later killed after NATO bombing, while the other operates with impunity, with nobody seriously talking about any military conflict against North Korea

@jimthegiant Globalism is designed to enrich the people that are holding the levers of power. The side benefit is that it makes people poor and that means more people need access to the social services that they have rigged to enrich themselves. It is a positive feedback loop.

Iran has been vehemently clear for decades that it would never renounce the same right every country on earth has under the NPT: to enrich uranium for nuclear energy, but not for nuclear weapons. No country would ever give up that right. Trump never demanded this ludicrous concession until Israel ordered him that this has to be the red line. I still think Trump doesn't understand the difference bewteen "no nuclear bomb" and "no nuclear program." But either way, any "negotiations" based on a demand that Iran give up the right to enrich uranium even to 3.67% is designed in advance to fail, and instead to re-start the war so that Israel's ultimate aim can be achieved: shattering Iranian society and turning it into Libya and Syria.
Bannon’s WarRoom@Bannons_WarRoom

TRITA PARSI: If JD Vance is right that the U.S. went in demanding zero enrichment, then of course this blew up. That was Israel’s red line, not Trump’s original red line of no nuclear weapons. Push for surrender, and you guarantee escalation.

My son got stabbed on a German subway yesterday Apparently an Afghan man got angry at him for not speaking Arabic He is in the hospital right now, and I have to say the experience has been absolutely wonderful He was seen by a doctor within 40 minutes of arriving The doctors were professional and helped my son right away No one asked for a credit card or insurance details His life was saved completely free of charge In America this would have cost $250,000 and he would be in debt for the rest of his life "Aren't you worried he got stabbed at all?" my wife was crying "Baby, crime exists everywhere but free healthcare does not" I told her My son is recovering well and should be back at his feet within couple months It feels so fantastic to be protected by the EU

Young men? Why not also young women? Young women are generally better educated than young men today across most advanced economies. In OECD countries, 51% of women aged 25-34 hold a tertiary degree, compared to 39% of men.
QuintusCurtius@QuintusCurtius

We desperately need young men in positions of power. These malignant fossils now holding the reins of authority, who have brought the nation to the brink of ruin, must be replaced. We need a revolution of thought and of action that will sweep away the detritus of the past.

civil disobedience is making a return, wealth gets hoarded and siphoned from regular people at such a scale that the entire system is collapsing. there is only so far you can push people against the ropes before they have nothing to lose and start punching back elites that allowed the wealth gap to widen as far as it has must be punished

Trump is retaliating against Iran by double closing the Strait of Hormuz. So, now Iran's oil can't get out either. Ok, but what will that do to oil prices? Make them much higher!! And that will hurt our economy very badly. So, ironically, that only INCREASES Iran's leverage.

I don’t think Republicans recognize what they’ve done; our allies who have stood by us for ~80 years revile us. They may never appreciate the gravity of what they’ve done, but this is a paradigm shift. The era of a united west led by the US is dead, and we’re all worse off.

trump doesn’t have a plan to reopen the strait. as long as that remains the case, extended negotiations without a breakthrough serve both the united states and the islamic republic.

@KobeissiLetter Authority over the Strait is not possible is it? It is international waters. Reparations could be sold as investment. 3 and 4 look very promising.

BREAKING: Iran has formally submitted its four "red lines" for peace talks with the US today, per Iranian state TV: 1. Authority over the Strait of Hormuz 2. Payment of war reparations 3. Unfreezing of all blocked Iranian financial assets 4. Securing a comprehensive regional ceasefire In-person negotiations are ongoing as we speak.
