That’s because Pokemon Fans don’t play anything else besides Pokemon. So they don’t know all the other insane stuff other companies do like Ubisoft charging money for cosmetics in a single player game like assassins creed with battle passes etc.

The Pokemon community has unbelievable standards of what pay to win means 😂😂😂 MFs got a free to play game, with a 7 dollar battle pass and you can bring over anything you’ve owned from previous games and they’re calling it a cash grab 💀

The gap of skill between great and ultra ball rank in champions is HUGE. And the EXTREME variety of teams found at the bottom of ultra rank is crazy.

I'm no Pokemon expert... but why aren't all the Pokemon usable? Wasn't that the point of making a game like this?

HERE IT IS. The list of Pokémon that are usable in Pokémon Champions. Only 186 Pokémon are present currently in Pokémon Champions.

@bebrecht6 @PhillyBeatzU That's nice and all but this isn't a standard main line game to be phased out in a few years. The plan is for this game to be used for competitive indefinitely. To keep a game running indefinitely you need something more than a one time purchase.

This is one of the things I was worried about. Not the “pay walling” but people fear mongering the incoming F2P audience over incredibly basic knowledge.
You need the Pokemon games to get Pokemon: shocker. Champions was not giving anyone FREE access to 1000+ Pokemon at will.

@Queueueue_ @DCoronet44 @Iyokuu You get extra VP missions through the premium tier. Like I said, it pushes less patient players or those that want to play more into spending money on a subscription. It's not as bad as Unite but you're leaving out context.

@DopperPines618 @DCoronet44 @Iyokuu There's no loot boxes, no way to repeatedly buy in-game currency, hell there's no way to repeatedly buy anything without waiting a month. I just don't buy that this game is predatory in its current state

@DopperPines618 @DCoronet44 @Iyokuu A $10 purchase once per month for a battle pass where you see exactly what you get before hand is hardly predatory, especially compared to a ton of other games which let you endlessly throw money at them for a cosmetic roulette wheel.
