I hate to pile on cause she’s had a rough go of it but genuinely anyone who earnestly thinks that Nancy Pelosi would have passed single payer if she had her way doesn’t have enough of a basic understanding of the world to have any business being a political commentator.

@ContraPoints It’s one thing for a politician to opportunistically jump on what’s popular in a given moment, and a whole other thing to genuinely believe in something and fight for it. Nancy Pelosi never meaningfully championed either single-payer healthcare or even a public option.
