What an achievement from @TuongMHo and the @research_hope , completely hormone-free ART with good pregnancy outcomes. Only possible with an advanced IVM system. Awesome - we have been waiting a long time to get to this point. Congrats!!

fantastic work @TuongMHo @research_hope . OTO-IVM (ex vivo IVM; immature oocytes from ovarian tissue) is a no-brainer for fertility preservation for a lab routinely running IVM for infertility treatment. Easy peasy !!

OTO & CAPA IVM | We retrieved immature oocytes from ovarian tissue, applied biphasic IVM. We got 22 MII oocytes for vitrification in this case. Really potential !

Why stimulation for PCO women? Today we have 4 cases of IVM for PCO. We collected at least 20 oocytes each, without any gonadotropin priming. Our maturation rate is > 60%. > 90% of our IVM cases have blastocysts for transfers.

But how and with what is the million $$ question, right? In theory IVM could provide an opportunity for treatment that COS-IVF does not. But no silver bullet yet. #ESHREjc

Q3: Oocytes easily resume meiosis but obtaining a functional oocyte 🥚(nuclear and cytoplasmically sane) is complex, more so in vitro 🧫. ❓What gaps in the science of oocyte maturation need to be answered before safety and efficacy is established? #ESHREjc

Oocyte developmental status depends on gonadotropin (dose) priming, follicle size. #ESHREjc

@MdevosMD @SofiaMakieva @GLiperis @SofiaMakieva. High - no, abnormal - yes. Remember a naked GV oocyte is an abnormal oocyte. In vivo, at no stage are oocytes ever naked. CCs are the oocyte’s nurse cells. No one should be surprised aneuploid rates are higher with Rescue IVM. #ESHREjc
