Last suicide I worked was a 23 year old kid who put a 44 Magnum to his own temple. Dad came home from work and found him laying his room with half his brain on the floor next to what was left of his head. Shit fucked me up pretty and I didn’t even know him. I can’t even imagine what it put his dad through.

Despite having few ties to the district, being a 26-year-old first-time candidate & facing a barrage of negative ads from AIPAC, Kat beat out 3 state legislators & will come within 3 points of defeating the mayor of Evanston (who’s also a former state senator and was a prominent gubernatorial candidate).
