My constituent Andrea has repeatedly been denied the critical care she needs while in detention and Trump’s ICE has done nothing but slow-walk her case and spread lies.
Today, I’m heading to El Paso to conduct Congressional oversight of two ICE facilities and speak with Andrea myself. I will provide updates on my social media channels throughout the day.

American businesses and consumers alike are being slammed with President Trump’s tariffs – but with a volatile market and rising costs, 95% of tariff costs have fallen on consumers. I’m leading the charge alongside @RepHorsford to ensure large corporations don't pass tariff costs off onto consumers and issue refunds to small businesses, consumers and supply chain vendors impacted by costs.

Last week, ICE finally gave me the answers I demanded months ago about the potential opening of new ICE detention centers in Shakopee and Woodbury. They confirmed that neither of these projects are moving forward.
This is a direct result of state and local leaders like @BradTabke and CD2ers who made it loud and clear that ICE is not welcome in our community. This is what resistance looks like.

This misguided and dangerous decision is yet another attack on access to reproductive care and a stark reminder that we can’t rely on our courts to protect the right to abortion.
It’s long overdue for Congress to codify Roe v. Wade and I won’t stop fighting until we do.

My statement on my vote on yesterday’s rotisserie chicken SNAP eligibility amendment to the farm bill.
I urge you to call your senators and ask them to include the Hot Foods Act in the Senate version of the farm bill. Minnesotans deserve access to a variety of hot foods, including but not limited to rotisserie chicken. We need comprehensive reform, not a narrow carve out led by big grocers and the chicken industry.

Rural electric co-ops do more for our communities than just keep the lights on – they strengthen our grid, stimulate our economy and keep energy costs low for folks in rural areas.
It was great to see the MN Rural Electric Association this week in DC. I’ll always ensure our rural electric co-ops have the resources they need to succeed.

Farm country is hurting – bankruptcies are up, the Trump Administration has decimated our export markets and things are starting to look a lot like the 1980’s farm crisis.
My Republican colleagues continue to tout their support for rural communities – even as they rubberstamp trade wars driving up costs for farmers and producers. I’ve been fighting for farm country since day one. It’s why I introduced the Farm and Family Relief Act – to provide Minnesotans relief from the President’s reckless tariffs.
It’s time for my Republican colleagues to get serious and stop playing politics with the folks who feed and fuel the world.

It was great to share a few words with the National Association of Farm Broadcasters this morning! Ag reporters bring critical news, emergency alerts and programming to Minnesota’s rural communities. As the top dem on @HouseAgDems – and a former journalist myself – I’m grateful for their partnership!

Operation Metro Surge not only tore our communities apart, it wreaked havoc on our economy too. In January and February, Minnesota lost thousands of jobs in hospitality, construction and other sectors.
Enough of these Minnesota-last policies. The Trump Admin should pay for the economic harm they inflicted on our state.

This week, two construction subcontractors agreed to pay their workers over a million dollars in back wages and damages in the MN DLI’s largest wage theft case ever.
This settlement is a huge victory for organized labor in MN and it’s proof that the right to organize is instrumental when it comes to securing better working conditions and higher wages for workers.

Since President Trump’s war in Iran, gas prices in Minnesota have increased by more than 30% on average. That’s unacceptable.
Minnesotans want a life they can afford, not another forever war in the Middle East.

Happy National Apprenticeship Week, Minnesota! As the mom of a trade school grad and a strong advocate for career and technical education, I understand that access to trade school and apprenticeship programs is just as important as access to a four-year degree.
I’ve got a bill to help support and increase enrollment in apprenticeship programs — because we should be making it easier, not harder for Minnesotans to land good-paying jobs in the trades. It’s time we get it signed into law.
