@GestaltedApe @SeedOilDsrspctr I’m in Metro West Boston/SE New Hampshire. This entire area is ethnic, lol but I wouldn’t call it the type of tight knit community you are describing.

I wonder if this is area dependent. I grew up in a solid UMC European neighborhood. Worked at a couple in HS. Was never especially bothered. Got the occasional lazy HS kid who had an attitude and put in zero effort, but overall people were relatively clean and did okay work. But, I've also seen other places over time in different cities or parts of town, and even just walking into the restaurant I can tell....yea....maybe not here....

I’m at the point where I don’t believe any of these studies where people “didn’t eat seed oils”. So, they went to zero restaurants? Ate basically no food from packages? Never had salad dressing or used sauces? The only people NOT eating seed oils are those who are VERY specifically altering their lives in drastic ways, and people with crippling OCD and they only eat boiled cabbage or something. (Rare)

@GestaltedApe @SeedOilDsrspctr Besides the seed oils, I don’t eat out because all I have to do is look at the people preparing the food, that’s enough for me. I’m talking fast food or chain restaurant type places.

for the average slob American you are obviously bang on. Seems out of touch with the percentages is more my point. 99.99%? I don’t even think I’d say 95%/ It’s not at all rare for me to find people who make their own stuff, don’t eat packaged foods, and rarely eat out. Uncommon, but far from rare. Your post reads (to me) like it’s a shocking upending of the natural order

I don’t work in an office, but if I did, I think something very bare and simple like this would have to be what I do. Maybe a little more art on the walls. It would be so distracting to work in a “beautiful” space

Lots of talk about food today. So let's have a wee chat about burgers! A good bacon cheese burger is never a bad thing. That said, what is it with all these designer mayonnaise sauces that so many food places slop on top? Am I the only one who absolutely detests sloppy cream sauces ruining my burger? Or am I being too picky? 🍔🙋‍♀️

This piece by Hugo Vickers new book revealing that Prince Philip had Pancreatic Cancer for the last 8 years of his life💔 The DM reports “In Queen Elizabeth II, serialised exclusively in the Mail on Sunday, biographer Hugo Vickers discloses that the then-Duke of Edinburgh was diagnosed with inoperable cancer in June 2013 during an 11-day stay in hospital.” “He died at Windsor Castle in April 2021, two months before his 100th birthday, with ‘old age’ listed on his death certificate”. Then this part was my favourite describing the spirit of the Man to the fullest: “On the last night of his life, Prince Philip gave nurses the slip and shuffled along a corridor at the castle on his Zimmer frame before pouring himself a beer and drinking it in the Oak Room, a sitting room”😄 Vickers added: ‘The following morning, he got up, had a bath, said he did not feel well and quietly slipped away.  'By this point, he had lived with pancreatic cancer for nearly eight years – far longer than the usual survival time from diagnosis.’👌🏽 Queen Elizabeth was not there when her husband of 73 years died and was said to have been upset that ‘as so often in life, he left without saying goodbye’.❤️‍🩹 A love like theirs… To the end, these two were fighters and they enjoyed living. it is not surprising to learn that the Duke would have beat the usual survival time from diagnosis of this type of cancer. No way. When you walk up and see the Green Monster it is a unique experience. Not everything needs to be a modern luxury. There is a charm to the place especially given all the history there.

Orange is a happy color. We don’t have any in our house, but it definitely makes a room feel light. It’s similar to yellow in that, you have to do it right or it looks terrible.
