@xMBGx If they want to eat the cost of the supposed $1k+ console then maybe.. but software is king and given how expensive these games are to make, they’ll need as much of their player base as possible to buy them which will be carried by the PS5 for years after the PS6

@NintyPrime Nintendo is in a position to come full circle and get back on top the way hardware prices are trending. 3rd Party studios should be all over prioritizing optimization and day 1 releases for Switch 2 atp

Is the 3rd, or 4th increase? It really sucks watching 5 year old platforms constantly going up in price due to the macroeconomics of the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if PS6 isn’t out for a long while. It’s a miracle Switch 2 somehow launched successfully into the market the way it is right now. Going to be even harder for a premium console launch.

@BobWulff If they focused on what really drives hardware sales (software) they could keep prices flat and eat the loss. We’ve gotten more hardware iterations/accessories than first party games. It’s like they’re continuously trying to find ways to sell Yeti cups with nothing to drink

@SpawnWaveMedia Biggest announcements were 3rd party games and the big finale was yet another remake/2D game. As an overall presentation it was solid but as a PS event it was mediocre. Somehow managed to create over an hour without a single mention of the only two big titles being worked on

The first full calendar year has begun for Switch 2. What do you think happens this year for the system? Games? Expectations?

@NintyPrime I’ve always felt that buying physical games contradicts the portability of the Switch/2. It’s like carrying a Rolodex alongside your smartphone rather than just saving your contacts

I’ve been pc gaming since 1995. And maybe doing this has affected my perspective - but the all digital future is upon us. Been all digital on pc for like 2 decades. The other platform holders have a majority of system types and sales, not coming with disc drives. PS6 is rumored to have zero sku’s that even come with a disc drive. And I’m supposed to be angry over key-cards and just ignore the rest of the world? I don’t get it. Not because people don’t like physical games, but everyone around us is phasing it out quite literally and getting almost zero major backlash for doing so. Beyond this, I’ve been reading lots of comments on how made people are over the PalWorld Lawsuit. I tend to agree it’s a rediculous lawsuit and Nintendo and TPC has nothing to stand on. But if that’s the case, won’t they simply… lose? That’s what looks like is happening. So the lawsuit is probably going to fail. And let’s say it doesn’t fail entirely and they win part of it - that would mean PalWorld did do something, however small, wrong under the law. Either way, what does that lawsuit even matter to us? PalWorld isn’t going away and now has a spin off coming. And if the care is just “look at how evil Nintendo is”, these companies, all Of them, are in lawsuits all the time and nobody talk about it, or they do for a day and then they move on. Both of these points just seem so damn obvious there is apparent bias to be mad at Nintendo over things other companies are doing as well, let alone pushing in a more obvious way. I’m not a fan of either thing, but none of it really affects my life.

@OBE1plays It’s everything we could’ve asked for from the og Switch. Just need some 3rd party devs to take it seriously. Madden is playable but there’s no reason it can’t be a smooth 60fps with the current graphics when we can play large scale BR MP games with solid fidelity & smooth frames

We’re over two months since the launch of the Switch 2! How y’all feeling about your system?

Any time you do a local delivery with any in store item, the status doesn’t change until like an hour before they walk out the building and head to your address. Only Walmart statuses I’ve seen change so far are ones with regular carrier shipping

@jakerandall Last time I preordered something from Target, I had a similar post launch delivery window but once we got a few days away from launch date, it updated and I got it on release day

If you pre-ordered from Target you will get your Switch 2 between June 6-11. That has always been the case and hasn’t changed since April 24th. Check my pinned tweet if you want to buy one on launch day and then you can either cancel or return your Target pre-order.

Hey Nintendo, since I now have over 100 people saying you pay me, hit up my DM’s so I can tell you where to deposit that imaginary check. Contrary to popular belief no, Nintendo doesn’t pay content creators. No, not even the Nintendo Ambassador ones (of which I am not). And if anyone wants to bring up the digital foundry ad for Zelda - they are owned by euro gamer who’s owned by IGN. They are not like us.

@Michael_Rich044 @Wario64 That’s also true. I would love to go after it but just upgraded to the oled right before they announced it although it may be my favorite themed switch console. Torn between not wanting to miss but not wanting to get another oled right after it bought mine

@SAPswitch @Wario64 It might be but what I’ll say to that is the Mario one sold out completely and never returned so you can’t be too sure. Also it’s splatoon and a lot of people that wanted to upgrade to an Oled such as myself will be taking this opportunity to do so
