@BuzzPatterson I bet the brainstorming session that led to this was lit. “You’re gonna call me crazy, but I’ve got an idea. Now hear me out.”

@RocketkenOG @BuzzPatterson I was thinking the exact same thing. I watched some lady give an elementary school speech just before the they started the 10 min countdown. I would rather see the launch team from Apollo 13 back in charge. “Screw your feelings, we got a launch to do…”

Absolutely agree. This booster rocket has a clear future. As I watched the Artemis2 DEI launch, I just couldn't get excited about the SLS rocket; knowing what that all-expendable and less powerful rocket costs. Also, the whole presentation by NASA seemed awkward in comparison with what SpaceX has spoiled us with.

@BuzzPatterson You are EXACTLY right. For all his faults, @elonmusk designed this. Nobody at @NASA has even come this close in imagination. I’ll probably never own a Tesla but the first time I saw this- absolute Amazement!

If you haven’t heard, and even if you have, Jimmy Kimmel said this about Markwayne Mullin, former Senator from Oklahoma, and our newest Secretary of Homeland Security: “We have a plumber now protecting us from terrorism.” Apparently, there has been some backlash. Plumbers were offended, obviously, as were parents of plumbers, spouses of plumbers, children of plumbers, and millions of people who have had a plumber show up when they needed one. Comedians were also offended, (the funny ones, anyway,) along with a surprising number of terrorists - especially those with access to hot and cold running water. However, in spite of the ensuing kerfuffle, @jimmykimmel doubled down. “I’m not upset that the head of Homeland Security was a plumber,” he said, “I’m upset that he isn’t still a plumber." He further elucidated by adding, "I wouldn't put a plumber in charge of Homeland Security for the same reason I wouldn't call a five-star general to pull a rat out of my toilet, OK? We all have our areas of expertise.” Being offended is always a choice, and I don’t choose to be offended by a joke, even one that comes at the expense of the skilled tradespeople my foundation tries to elevate. But I am a tad butt hurt by the suggestion that skilled workers should never evolve into something new, and that competence is somehow limited to one vocation. Obviously, expertise and skill are important. If I need a new kidney, I’d prefer a doctor do the surgery, not a late-night talk show host. But if the doctor in question used to host a talk show, why would I hold that against him? Ten years ago, during one of the presidential debates, @MarcoRubio answered a workforce-related question by arguing that America needed to get shop class back into high schools. He concluded by saying, “What our country needs are more welders and fewer philosophers.” A lot of people on this page commented that Rubio and I were singing from the same hymnal, but in fact, we weren’t. At least not entirely. Because I don’t think the current shortage of welders has anything to do with an overabundance of philosophers. In fact, I think it’s a mistake to promote one vocation at the expense of the other. What we really need in this country, are more welders who can talk intelligently about Aristotle, and more philosophers who can run an even bead. More Generals, in other words, who can fix their own toilets, and more plumbers who can hold a powerful government job. This is what Mullin did. He was a private citizen who mastered an essential skill and then turned that skill into a multi-million-dollar company that employed a lot of people and served a lot of customers. That gave him the freedom to do other things with his life, including a career in public service which got him into Congress, where he’s spent the last eleven years doing whatever Congressmen do. Now, he has a very consequential position in the Cabinet of the current administration. Is that not the embodiment of the American Dream? I get that Jimmy Kimmel might have a problem with Mullin’s politics, but what possible objection could he have about the trajectory of his career, or his desire to do more than one thing with his life? The only sensible thing to do in the wake of a moment this tone deaf, is remind America that the skills gap is wide, and getting wider. The shortage of skilled tradespeople is now headline news and closing it is nothing less than a matter of national security. This year, my foundation has set aside $10 million dollars to help train the next generation of plumbers, and lots of other essential workers. I'm talking about hundreds of thousands of AI-proof, six figure jobs that don't require a four-year degree, waiting to be filled. The money is currently available to anyone who wants to master a useful skill at mikeroweworks.org. Apply today. As for those of you genuinely offended by Kimmel's comments, consider expressing your disappointment with a modest donation to mikeroweWORKS. Our work ethic scholarship is making a real difference, and your money will be well spent, I promise. The donate button is big and red and hard to miss, at mikeroweworks.org I’d love to chat but I’ve gotta pull a rat out of my toilet…

@BadgedPatriot For us it was 10+ over the speed limit for a stop. A citation is not required, however making the actual traffic stop can reduce speeds of surrounding traffic- mission accomplished. FL now has the +100 arrestable offense which is good.

This is going to be interesting to see how different people think. On a major interstate, where the posted speed limit is 70mph, at what speed do you think an officer should pull someone over and issue a citation?👮🚔

Our Congress is a JOKE. We have 2 Jihadists who hate America. We have a Leader who refuses to pass the SAVE Act. We have a Black dude who pretends to be Barack Obama. We have a dude who can’t speak English and wears a cat on his head. We have a woman pretending to be a native Indian. We have a woman in the House who stole 5M from FEMA. We have a one eyed dude who has "drinking episodes" in Mexico. We have a dude who begged Jeffrey Epstein for money after his conviction. We have a lady who was texting with Epstein during a Congressional hearing. We have a dude in Congress pretending to be a women. We have a jihadist lady who married her brother. We have a dude who was banging a Chinese spy. We have an old alcoholic hag who is insider trading. We have a heavy set lady punching ICE agents. We have a dude who made up Russian lies. We have a dude who drinks margaritas with gang members. We have staffers ass fcking in the Senate chamber room. All paid for by the American taxpayer.

@gotrice2024 She’s right next to a road, you can see it in the background. This would lead to the possibility that there is someone’s property really close by and that some woman was yelling. If you’ve ever been on the AT, there are always trees down or uprooted. This is not uncommon.

This woman was out for a jog with her dog on the Appalachian trail. She pulls out her camera to document a tree that was recently uprooted when she hears a woman’s voice. She quickly recites one of the rules for Appalachia and she immediately makes a run to the car so she can leave. I never knew the rules applied during the day time as well, I always thought that was only for at night, would you have left as well, or just thought it was another person enjoying the trail?

The U.S. military was likely responsible for the strike on an elementary school in southern Iran that killed scores of children, the deadliest incident of civilian casualties in the US and Israel’s almost week-long war with Iran, according to CNN and expert analysis of evidence.

Holy cow - here we go! US Capitol Police ARRESTED Ilhan Omar’s State of the Union guest. Why? Because she REFUSED to stop standing and BLOCKING others in the gallery during Trump’s speech. We now know that this is the exact SAME leftist activist who was arrested in Minneapolis for using her car to BLOCK ICE agents’ cars on a street. REPOST this absolutely EVERYWHERE! #thinblueline #lawenforcement

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Eric Slover is a real life Superman and I’ll tell you why: -Obtaining CW5 in the Army is extremely rare in itself. -Right shoulder is a combat patch with Special Operations Command. Essentially meaning he is “Delta Force” of Aviation. -Eric was the first Chief Warrant Officer to receive in Medal of Honor in military history. -Combat hashes on his right sleeve total up to 10. One stripe is given every 6 months of active combat service. He has been deployed for (at least) 5 years in a combat environment. And this is on top of what he did in Venezuela. American legend and hero.

They fell for it. They ALL fell for it. Here's a NYC resident whining that Mamdani is doing none of the free programs he promised and is instead most likely going to be raising taxes. “He promised free buses, free food, and that rent was going to go down. None of that is happening. He’s raising taxes and draining the rainy day fund.” 🤣 That "buyer's remorse" hit fast, eh? REPOST for exposure. #thinblueline #lawenforcement

MASSIVE news! The Kansas Legislature - both the Senate and the House - voted to OVERRODE the Democrat Governor's veto. In doing so, they've enacted a law that: - Bans MEN from WOMEN'S restrooms - Defines male and female at birth - Requires accurate listing of male or female on licenses and birth certificates Sanity still exists. FUCKING OUTRAGEOUSLY EMBARRASSING STUPIDITY...@AOC You historically illiterate girl... You just humiliated yourself on a global stage by cackling like a hyena at Marco Rubio for daring to state the blindingly obvious fact that the American cowboy tradition traces straight back to Spain. And you did it with that smug, vacant-eyed sneer that screams “I skimmed Wikipedia once and now I’m an expert.” Let’s carve this into your skull with the precision of a Toledo blade. The cowboy... the archetype you think sprang fully formed from some John Wayne fever dream...is a direct descendant of the Spanish vaquero. Full stop. Not “Mexican” in the modern national sense you’re desperately trying to retrofit onto history. Not some spontaneous invention of Black or Indigenous Americans...though they later contributed brilliantly. The core practices, tools, vocabulary, and culture came from Spain. Spain domesticated cattle in Europe for millennia. Spain mastered mounted herding on the Iberian Peninsula.. After 1492, Spanish conquistadors and colonists brought horses...reintroduced to the Americas after extinction...and longhorn cattle to New Spain...what is now Mexico and the Southwest U.S. By the 1500s–1600s, the hacienda system in colonial Mexico produced the vaquero: Expert horsemen who roped, branded, drove, and managed massive herds using lariats, chaparreras...chaps... sombreros, spurs, and saddles that were Spanish in design and name. The word “rodeo” is literally Spanish. “Lasso” is Spanish. “Bronco” is Spanish. “Mustang” derives from Spanish...mesteño. The entire goddamn lexicon of cowboy life is Spanish because the tradition is Spanish. When Anglo-Americans moved into Texas and the Southwest in the 1800s, they learned ranching from Mexican vaqueros...who were themselves inheriting centuries of Spanish technique. The Texas longhorn drives, the open-range culture, the cattle trails...all built on the foundation laid by Spain centuries earlier. You mocking Rubio for pointing out that the cowboy’s roots are Spanish is like mocking someone for saying pizza has Italian origins because Americans later added pineapple. It’s not just ignorant... it’s a deliberate, ideologically driven erasure of historical fact to shoehorn your preferred narrative into reality. Your brain doesn’t malfunction because you lack intelligence. It malfunctions because you’re addicted to the dopamine rush of moral superiority. You don’t seek truth; you seek applause from the terminally online who need to believe every iconic American symbol must be “decolonized” or credited to marginalized groups...even when the historical record says otherwise. You’re not just wrong, Alexandria. You’re a living embodiment of weaponized ignorance: loud, proud, and utterly convinced that feelings trump facts. The lineage is Spanish → colonial Mexican vaquero → American cowboy. Swallow it. And next time you feel the urge to laugh at actual history, maybe try reading a fucking book instead. I'm absolutely shocked that you did not say they spoke "Mexican"... I'm eternally, vicariously embarrassed and full of cringe every time you open your mouth. 💀
