Our family buried a hero. I’ve raised our children alone. And still, some dare call justice “warmongering.” I’ll say this as many times as it takes for the truth to pierce through: My husband, SSG Alan Shaw, was ripped from us February 9, 2007, blown apart by an Iranian-backed militia IED in Baqubah, Iraq. Our kids were 10, 7, and 6. I clutched our little girls’ trembling hands while our 10-year-old son, barely more than a baby himself, stepped forward like the man of the house, leading us through the rows to his daddy’s fresh grave in Section 60 at Arlington National Cemetery,. His small shoulders squared against the wind, his eyes already ancient with a pain that should never touch a child. Then an officer dropped to one knee before us and pressed that folded flag into my shaking arms. Our babies watched their forever change in an instant, silent tears carving tracks down tiny faces. Pentagon numbers: at least 603 American souls murdered by Iran’s proxies in Iraq 2003-2011. One in six combat deaths. Numbers etched forever on white stones. Iran has drenched American blood for decades: Beirut, Khobar Towers, Iraq’s deadly streets, and on. When they shriek “Israel First” or “escalation,” they mock every widow’s shattered heart and every fatherless child’s empty chair. This isn’t politics. This is the silence at bedtime where a father’s goodnight kiss should be. This is the rest of our broken lives. Iran has waged war on us since before my children drew breath. Looking away didn’t end the killing. It fed the graves. America First means honoring every fallen hero by ensuring their sacrifice stops the next knock on a door, not letting it happen in vain. 🇺🇸 No more impunity. Hold them accountable! 🔥 #IranWar #AmericaFirst #GoldStar

Why do you people continuously tell half-truths or just outright lie? The clip you’re sharing is heavily edited and conveniently leaves out the full context of what was actually said. He was quoting Will Durant and making a point about strength, deterrence, and the reality of war, not declaring that evil is superior to good or putting Genghis Khan above Jesus Christ. At this point, this is just deliberate deception.

Stop. You don’t get to wrap someone in their service and shut down all criticism. That’s not how this works. He stood there and said his wife died for Israel. Read that again. That is a complete degradation of her sacrifice and every other service member who died in those wars. They did not die for Israel. They did not die for some talking point. They served this country, period. And being a veteran or a Gold Star spouse does not make someone above criticism when they start rewriting what those sacrifices meant. Honor is not just about what you did in the past. It’s about what you say and do with it now. And that statement crossed a line.

You’re preaching off a quote that wasn’t even his. He was quoting Will Durant, and he literally said that before the line you’re all outraged about. The point wasn’t theology, it was reality in a world of war. Being morally right doesn’t stop violent regimes. If good societies aren’t strong enough to defend themselves, ruthless ones win. He even framed it with “it is not enough to be moral, just, or right.” That’s a statement about deterrence and survival, not a declaration that evil is superior to good. Clipping the line, removing the attribution, and then tying it to Scripture to accuse him of elevating Genghis Khan over Jesus is dishonest.

To those attacking Joe, an honorable man: This is not a man who would betray his country or his wife’s legacy. He could write countless stories about himself and his time in the military (he has plenty). Instead he chose to write about his late wife and make sure HER name is remembered for generations. A man who honors his wife in life AND death is not a man who would do the things people are accusing him of. And people forget the part of Joe being a QUIET professional. So he spent decades able to keep sensitive information and then suddenly he decides to do the opposite of what has been ingrained in him for most of his adult life? Come on- please THINK! I am truly disgusted seeing people who have never and WILL never volunteer to serve this country, attack a man who has dedicated his life to serving this country. “Now it’s on us to live a life worthy of their sacrifice.” 🫡 🇺🇸 ^ does that sound like a traitor? Can people please THINK?!

Yesterday we celebrated the life, service & love of my brother in law Mike Smith, Master SGT (Ret) USMC. Mike enlisted in the Marines following the attacks on 9/11 & Shannon enlisted in the Navy. Like so many in our generation, Mike & Shannon wanted to do their part for our nation following 9/11. Mike served at the tip of the spear as an Explosives Ordinance Disposal technician for Marine Recon & MARSOC. Mike earned a Bronze Star for Valor in Afghanistan for saving the lives of his Marine Recon team when they were ambushed, Mike fought the enemy, rendered aid to his wounded Marines & safely disposed of IEDs, clearing an escape route for his entire team. Marines don’t give out awards easily, getting BSM w/V from Marine Recon is a high honor. EOD is as dangerous as it gets, and takes certain type of crazy to seek out IEDs, mines & explosives designed to kill us. I was always grateful when we had EOD with us. Mike survived the war, only to be taken by cancer immediately after retiring. The cancer stalking our generation of warriors is evil, fast & mercilessly, get your screenings. Mike was larger than life, yesterday his brothers did a great job of sharing so many stories of Mike’s antics, his valor & most importantly, his love. Love for his brothers, family & nation. There are no words to describe the pain of his loss & the pain that his parents & sister are enduring. I don’t know why this happened but I do know we’ll see Mike & Shannon again, and they are together now. Now it’s on us to live a life worthy of their sacrifice.

The Iranian regime executed a 19 year old for demanding democracy. I stand with his memory and the thousands of other young Iranians. Those who grieve the elimination of Iranian leaders over murdered protesters is telling.
Masih Alinejad 🏳️@AlinejadMasih

Today, in Iran, in the middle of a war, the regime executed a 19-year-old national wrestling champion for the crime of joining January protests. 💔 After signaling to the world, including President @realDonaldTrump, that they would halt executions of protesters, the regime has done the exact opposite. Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.

No. What’s vile is smearing every U.S. service member as a “war criminal” to justify calling them terrorists. You can oppose wars, policy, and deployments all day long. That’s your right. But you don’t get to take that and turn it into an attack on the individual men and women who served and died. “Documented perpetrators” doesn’t mean what you’re trying to make it mean. Isolated crimes have been investigated and prosecuted. That is not the same as labeling an entire force or every fallen service member a criminal. And none of that gives you the right to look at widows and children and call their loved ones terrorists. You’re not making a serious argument. You’re using a broad brush to dehumanize people who can’t defend themselves.
Camila@camilapress

It’s not my narrative. The world clamours for the definitive closure of U.S. overseas military bases and operations and the expulsion of foreign troops and operatives. U.S. ‘service members’ are documented perpetrators of war crimes. It’s vile that you defend that.

@xAlphaWarriorx What’s disheartening about the shift I’m seeing is how many in the “truth” community are hanging on her and others every word. It’s groupthink dressed up as independent thought, and people are just falling in line without questioning any of it.

You’re missing the most important part of that entire article. “I can’t speak for the other families. When he spoke to me, that was not something we talked about.” That’s one man speaking for himself, not every Gold Star family there. And nowhere did Hegseth claim he heard that from every single family either.

This is the same family that was all over the news just days ago saying their son shouldn’t have been there. I’ll say it again, it’s extremely interesting how the mainstream media keeps putting a microphone in front of this family while ignoring the others who don’t fit the narrative.

She didn’t go on a “shopping spree.” She got on a plane immediately to get to her husband. When you leave like that, you’re not thinking about packing a suitcase. You grab what you can and go. So yeah, she bought clothes. Because she had none. The fact that this even needs to be explained is ridiculous. 🙄

BREAKING: Recent widow, Erika Kirk, on emergency travel to see to the affairs of her recently deceased husband, purchased clothing online. Why does a woman do this? Due to hurried travel without clean clothing, obviously. Hope the ALO employee who found and shared this info is fired.

Surely you’re not comparing the United States to Iran when it comes to the quality of life for its people, are you? That’s not even a serious comparison. One is a constitutional republic with protected rights and open dissent. The other is a theocracy where dissent gets you jailed, women are legally restricted, and opposition is crushed by force. Pretending those are the same is dishonest.

Hegseth is correct: it's terrible when a government driven by a radical ideology invests in weapons instead of its people. The Trump Administration spent $12 Billion to bomb Iran, and The Pentagon asked for a supplemental *$200 Billion* for the Iran regime change war. Remember, 20 million Americans saw their health care premiums double because Trump didn’t want to spend $30 billion.
Acyn@Acyn

Hegseth: Iran is an energy rich country. instead, like so many other places, driven by a radical ideology, instead of investing in their people… they invested in missiles, and they invested in launchers and UAVS.
