Interviewed and hired an HVAC tech this week. He took a $15k pay cut Not because he wanted fewer hours or an easier job. He said he was burned out by compensation plans that rewarded upselling over repairs and upselling unnecessary parts. His whole bonus comp was based on that. There seems to be growing fatigue with some of the more aggressive private equity-backed HVAC models.

I escaped the 9 to 5 slavery 3 months ago. I had a nice, stable corporate job. My biggest blackpill came when my former boss’s son, who was literally 18 years old, showed up and got handed the keys to the kingdom while his dad fucked off to Europe. In that moment I realized this shit is all bullshit. I spent 4 years in college, got the degree, got the job, did everything they told me to do, just to watch an 18 year old run a business because he happened to be born into the right family. That’s when I realized hard work doesn’t matter, your family does. I quit, stopped paying student loans, stopped paying taxes, fuck this system.

Normalize buying land with your siblings and closest friends and building a place where your families can grow together. Modern isolation isn't how people were meant to live. A few generations ago, extended families often lived just down the road from one another. Meals were shared, support was always nearby, and childcare wasn't a constant concern. Bring back the village.
