@jan_murray If you have in writing they would still pay and @scope haven't paid the invoice then surely it is a case for the small claims court - unless there are terms eg such as invoices are to be paid 30 days from receipt

In the email I received from Scope last week - cancelling us from their London Marathon “cheer team” because of my lawfully held views about sex and gender - they said they would pay our fee anyway, so no one was out of pocket. We had agreed a fee of £300. That just about covers singers’ train fares and a coffee. We typically sing for four hours without a break. For that fee, we also provide our own PA system, microphones, independent power source and other equipment Scope would otherwise need to buy or hire to have us there. Before the event, I had replaced some music stands - which get broken quite easily when you’re performing outside an and bought new props, masking tape, spare batteries and other bits. Out of my own money, with a view to reimbursing myself when there was enough in the choir account. When Scope reversed its decision at 6pm the night before the marathon, only one other singer felt comfortable performing at their cheer point. So we decided it was better to find another spot on the course - hence singing at Mile 15. Scope has not paid the invoice. In previous years, they paid before the event. So I am now scrabbling around to cover train fares for the singers who did come and sing - using the small amount left in the choir account from other gigs and a couple of kind donations received over the weekend. They’ve all said it’s fine. But it doesn’t feel fine to me. Covering singers’ travel is the least I can do. I won’t be able to reimburse myself for the equipment. Given all the upset Scope has caused, you might imagine they’d at least have paid the invoice they said they would pay. Just extraordinary.

@ThePosieParker I can't see what the fuss is other than maybe her ego. Upskirting is a foul activity but her skirt seems well below her nether region so surely to get a revealing shot the photographer would have to be on the floor much closer to her unless she bends over?

@PeterTatchell In the UK, men aged 50–54 have the highest suicide rate, but this isn't shouted about by people like yourself. Getting help for mental health issues is very difficult indeed - but that isn't just for trans people

Trans people in UK die by suicide at higher rates than general population. SHAME! Trans are less than 1% of the population but 7% of all child suicides Factors include stigma, long waits for gender-affirming care & poor mental health support thepinknews.com/2026/04/28/uk-…

Sadie’s response to Boston University @BU_Tweets after being banned from competing in WOMEN’S track and field: “They are hearing I was assigned male at birth and that is enough for them to ban any athlete.” “If you don’t conform to what they think is a female athlete, they are not going to let you compete.” Young girls and women should not have to compete against biological boys and men in sports, it’s not complicated.

@sharrond62 Your cult behaves like someone disagreeing with your political opinions is act of hate & a type of apostasy. It operates like a fundamentalist religion; any criticism from an outgroup is received as persecution, and thereby righteous justification for your own acts of hate.

What has astonishing & surprised me is the level of utter hatred of women by so many men, for us simply getting own stuff. It’s truly terrifying how much certain people have enjoyed called women every name under the sun (& cheered on) because they’ve had the temerity to say NO

@GyllKing @jan_murray I believe the choir sings but does not push particular beliefs while doing so I would say the choir is therefore not political. What people do outside the choir is up to them (if it is legal). If a c1s female requires same sex care then that excludes a trans woman with a penis

@jan_murray Why did you claim to be the only gender critical person in the choir and that you don’t know the views of other choir members? Why did you choose a charity with strong pro trans & inclusive policies - values you are diametrically opposed to?

It was this time last week that I first saw the email from Scope - dropping my choir from the London Marathon. I was working on a potential Telegraph story at the time - but had to drop everything to focus on trying to resolve the situation. It’s felt like a full-time job ever since. The public are behind me. But some people who matter more are upset with me. And sadly, I’m not sure those relationships will ever recover. Which is, of course, exactly what they want - disharmony, disagreement and for the blame to fall on me, rather than on the actions of Scope. I don’t blame those people. I know this world. And I remember how scary it was to be thrust into it, with little warning. Having worked in and around journalism for 25+ years, I also understand the role media visibility can play in achieving legal and other resolutions. But I understand that people who don’t work in that field may not see it that way. I also understand that trans activists don’t all wear masks and threaten women at protests. Many work inside organisations, across multiple sectors, embedding authoritarian ideas - such as the belief that saying there are only two sexes is bigotry - while being paid large salaries to do so. Again, I understand that many people may not see this. One person said I would have to rename my choir - that it would never recover from this. I disagree. But that doesn’t mean the perception wasn’t there. Or that the damage wasn’t real. Someone else said I was an “activist” and that singers would not want to be “tarred with the same brush” as me. None of that is true. My views are lawful, reasonable and widely held. But the perception is still there. Along with the damage. The irony is that my choir was never about politics. It was about music, community, and supporting others - and that hasn’t changed. But something that was beautiful has been made ugly. And not by our doing. That’s the real loss in all of this.

Oh London.. you're a tough one to crack! 😭 Disappointed with my run but proud of slogging it out to the finish after busting my toe open around the half way point!😅🩸 Making the start line wasn't easy (more on that later) so to actually finish is something I can be proud of!

He carried a fridge on his back for the London Marathon, which was a representation of carrying something which over time gets more & more difficult. He ran for Dementia, which has impacted our family & many others. Thank you to him for raising money & awareness. (Theftdbrothers)

These posters are up across the London Underground. They appear to encourage people to question or obstruct officers carrying out the law. Simple question: Should this be allowed — yes or no?
