Every WA tax has started w/ (1) it only impacts a small group; (2) it's not that much; (3) it's dedicated to an issue w/ broad support. Then, of course, the tax goes up; expands to a bigger group; and goes to the general fund. Voters have figured this out. seattletimes.com/seattle-news/p…

Wonder if centrist coalition can unite around a more moderate D. Anyone with R next to their name has 0% chance. Rs were over the moon on Tiffany Smiley who lost by 440K votes. So Rs can have Hard Left & pro tax, or pro-accountability pragmatic D. Seems like an easy choice?

@seattletimes @genebalk Hey @genebalk is there data on moving from Seattle (versus from King County). As an East Sider, I see lots of folks moving from Seattle to Bellevue & Mercer Island (less crime/chaos; better city management); I don't see the reverse move. But would love to see the data.
