@NewsNation So... was the house searched... floors walked all over on, BEFORE the floors/tiles were processed for footwear impressions? Crime Scene 101... day one, hour one.

It CANNOT be done thoroughly, properly in that time. NO WAY... ! The entire property should have been marked with crime scene tape, law enforcement staged at appropriate exterior locations to ensure no entry, the house should have been searched for persons (carefully, walking near the wall as closely as possible) then get out. Then... floors processed for footwear impression evidence (can be done in stages to allow other investigators to do other work as early as possible), then, and only then... begin processing for finger prints and search for other items/information... and a lot more to that. The scene must NOT have been released at all until all boxes are checked.... and until there is no chance that additional information learned may lead to possible collection of other items within and near the house. Even if "completed"', I'd still keep the crime scene, yard and all, in place for quite some time... definitely would not release it yet... (not today... and likely not for a couple weeks, pending a LOT more knowledge of the facts, circumstances, and potential evidence not known at this time). Under the current circumstances, NO promised/proposed date of release of the crime scene. I worked, supervised, and managed crime scenes for 22 years, from burglary to kidnap, rape, and multiple murders. In two murder cases I worked, one has been on death row since approx. 1998, another was executed. I managed the scenes and testified in those related trials and many others over the years. Not bragging... just evidence that I'm not an "armchair quarterback".

@TSOSProject @FoxUSNews It seemed to me as if the Sheriff handed over Nancy's house back to the family way too quickly. Check out one of his 1st prsssers. One would wonder how they could process any crime scene that quickly.

BREAKING: A U.S. law enforcement source confirmed reporting from Reuters to Fox News Digital that Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is blocking the FBI from key evidence in the Nancy Guthrie case. Sheriff Nanos sent a glove recovered from inside the home to a private lab in Florida rather than the FBI’s lab in Virginia, according to the source. The feds will likely want to retest the evidence.

Are you aware of any processing of the entryway and house for footwear impressions? I haven't seen any activities or heard about any processing the tile in the entryway, and the entire house for footwear impressions. Per the International Association for Identification (as of today) there are three AIA Certified Footwear Examiners in AZ: one each in Phoenix, Surprise, and Tempe. ALL fully trained crime scene analysts should be able to properly process multiple types of floors and objects for and recover footwear impressions to be examined and verified by at least two Certified Footwear Examiners. I also know of two certified examiners in Utah... I hired and supervised one of them for approx. 16 years. I “solved” (at least facilitated the process that led to a formal conclusion/identification) a murder case in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 2008, after they contacted me about footwear impression evidence they had. Several prosecutors from the Netherlands had attended a forensic conference I hosted in Las Vegas, so they reached out to me. I founded a municipal police department Forensic Crime Laboratory and CSI section eight years earlier. I marked up the photos of the impressions in blood, determined, and notified Rotterdam they could be scientifically examined and compared, and that there was significant detail in the impression. I was very familiar with the process and the science but was not and am not a qualified examiner. I asked them to bring the portion of the actual floor tile that the impression was on at the time, to me. A detective and another employee flew to Las Vegas and brought the evidence. My certified Footwear examiners examined the impression and completed an identification. The Rotterdam Prosecutor’s office completed their own independent examinations and provided their own conclusions. @TSOSProject - Rick Workman

Authorities on Thursday released the first physical description of a male suspect wanted in connection with the Arizona disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie. The suspect was seen on the front porch camera of Guthrie's home the morning she is believed to have been abducted. He was wearing a black-colored 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack, the FBI said. The FBI also said it has increased its reward from $50,000 to $100,000 for information leading to either the location of Nancy Guthrie, and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. cbsn.ws/4cs5Wh5

Nancy Grace says gloves found near the scene could be a critical clue: “This guy was so careful to wear gloves; he didn’t want to leave any fingerprints behind. What many perpetrators don’t realize is they are leaving their fingerprints inside the glove. And it’s not just that the gloves are similar to those we see on Nancy Guthrie’s front porch. It’s location, location, location—a mile and a half away from the crime scene. Why were they there? They were also combing the area by the road. They were in pairs, stretched out—lots of them—looking right alongside the road and going up into the cactus. Why? I think there was a tip. I wonder, did someone see someone throw something out a car window? It is not a coincidence. There are no coincidences in criminal law.”

@TSOSProject

🚨 A TATTOO could be CRITICAL. Randy Sutton: “If that is accurate… that could be critical evidence.” “When we do know, that will FOCUS the case in a lot of different directions.” Identifying marks change everything.

DAY 12 IN DESPERATE SEARCH FOR NANCY GUTHRIE International private investigator Jay Armes III and forensic psychologist Dr. John Delatorre push back on calling the suspect an “amateur,” saying he appeared composed, and that even inexperienced criminals can avoid the critical mistake that gets them caught.
