@patio11 Ok so. In MA (this varies by state) the school district can require you to file a notice of intent to homeschool. BUT there is no process, as you note, for telling them about private school. So when we switched homeschool->private, we got a truant officer on our porch.

@qwrrty - i was outside the building, passport in hand, at, IIRC, 4:07pm That 4pm line was a truly fun experience, tbqh. Two dozen people with nothing in common other than urgent international travel plans. Nervousness made people talkative, fizzy. Supervising official was charismatic.

OMG, arrived. Five whole hours before our taxi to the airport. This would 100% not have been possible without a very helpful staffer in @RepPressley 's office, which is a ridiculous way to run a passport system, but a great way to run a congressional office.
