Last night was a Spotlight on incredible stories of climatechange, human-nature relationships & human ingenuity emerging from Asia Pacific as chronicled by storytellers scientists & conservationists from the Asia Pacific! @InsideNatGeo #ExplorerSpotlight #HongKong

Another takeaway is the value of engaging with hunters directly; to our knowledge this is one of the first studies in the Greater Mekong Region to directly discuss hunting practices with hunters themselves (more articles to come!). Thank you to @NatGeo for funding this work!

Our new paper on COVID-19 and wildlife trade is out! bit.ly/3IaBrgi. Key takeaways are that the effects of the pandemic varied in rural communities across KH, LA, and VN, but overall a negative economic impact was felt with effects on hunting and trade.

@EdwinWiek @zenjournalist Also amount of people on social media defending the owner that kept wild animals in captivity, makes me so disappointed..they can't see how it's wrong in general. That's just sad and disappointing.

Lion confiscated after posts on Twitter. That went fast @zenjournalist . Of course there will be no legal charges or court hearing, but at least the lion might have a better chance in life (mind you the rescue center is owned by the same corrupt authorities).

@verissimodiogo @emiel_delange Thank Diogo. My grandma lost 6 children during that time. One of my uncle was hitted until die, forcing him to tell about family's identity . My grandma burnt all family photos and identity. My mom and dad were forced to married while they never known each other before.
