With the generous support from the @WorldBank, damaged schools during the war on #Tigray: #Haben, #Nigiste #Makda, #Sebeya, #AwlielAmbassat, #Fiqada primary schools in #Gulomekeda get rehabilitated. 14 other schools also undergoing rehabilitation in the same Woreda.

It has been a year since we partially reopened our schools after the devastating war in Tigray. Below is a summary of the activities carried out by the Interim Administration in collaboration with partners and the community.

📝~95% of schools damaged
📝~15k teachers unaccounted for
📝~25% of schools may close due to hunger.

As a result, 223K students are being forced to drop out en masse. 625 schools, marked in Red on the map, are now on the brink of closure unless immediate action is undertaken to provide school feeding. So far partners managed to feed only 80K in a few schools (Marked in Blue)

As a result of delays in fully implementing the Pretoria Peace Agreement, 657 schools in Tigray remain closed, and more than 1.5 million children have not yet resumed their education.
