I just retired from FERC after 20 years. I hope to stay involved in the electric power industry in some fashion going forward, especially during this period of industry transition.

@JesseJenkins @envirolawprof The cost allocation provisions in particular could help with developing more interregional transmission facilities. As we heard at the FERC tech conference, planning and cost allocation for interregional transmission is challenging under current frameworks

@envirolawprof To me, the most salient portions of the bill are transmission authority for FERC and approval of MVP.

I find this compelling. There is a real cost to front-line communities if we fail to expand clean energy fast enough to meet electrification needs AND drive coal & gas out. Much of this permitting reform debate has been presented as black & white, but we're living in the grey now
