🚨 POLITICS: COINBASE REJECTS LATEST SENATE STABLECOIN YIELD COMPROMISE
@coinbase has told Senate offices it cannot support the newest CLARITY Act language on stablecoin yields, throwing another wrench into the crypto industry's top legislative priority.
The exchange voiced concerns during a Monday meeting over the latest compromise text drafted by Senators Tillis and Alsobrooks, which bans passive stablecoin yield while allowing activity-based rewards. The new "economic equivalence" standard is broader than prior drafts.
The resistance is reportedly less severe than CEO Brian Armstrong's January opposition that single-handedly derailed the bill's markup. Talks are continuing, but without Coinbase's backing the legislation faces a difficult path. Senator Moreno has warned the bill stalls indefinitely if it doesn't pass by May.

Fully agree with Coinbase here. @brian_armstrong is actually fighting for consumers and real innovation, while these senators are doing the banks' dirty work by trying to slap controls on stablecoins and kill passive yields just so the old guard can keep their greedy grip on interest income.
This isn't regulation, it's protectionism in a cheap suit.
Let the market reward users properly.

I’m not sure why Putin allows this to continue. He has a golden opportunity to level everything in that God-forsaken land while everyone is distracted in Iran, yet he still permits zelensky to create chaos. What kind of strategy is this? Turkey has never been the largest financier of the Muslim Brotherhood. It has only hosted the MB exiles all over the region who had fled once the Arab Spring upheavals failed. Once Turkey normalised with the Arab countries; it also kicked MB channels out of Turkey, many relocated to London and other cities. Ankara doesn’t even protect dual citizens who could be associated with the MB, if they earned their citizenship through investment. So very ignorant and ill intended
