Labour have been quick to claim the credit for this project; it remains to be seen whether they'll now take responsibility for dealing with obstacles like this. Labour council, mayor & gov't have every lever at their disposal to make sure this project happens. They must deliver.

Yesterday, @SunderlandLab voted to raise their own allowances while rejecting a @WearsideLibDem plan to cut them despite rising council tax and service cuts. Once again, Labour puts higher taxes and pay for themselves above the public. Shameful!
