@mamiminluvwichu @Extra_Bubbles @WilliamofKent There have been polls already done by other countries yielding similar results and the stakes go both ways, “real risk of dying” and “real risk of killing millions” apply to their respective buttons. I have no way of knowing the “true” outcome but I trust data. And data says blue

@_D_dot_ @Extra_Bubbles @WilliamofKent If it's only 56% in n poll mostly answered by high trust westerners with no actual stakes, what do you think a real life worldwide poll that's actually binding in death would be?

“We don’t live in a high trust society” >test society >high trust wins >test again >trust wins >test again >trust wins “Well obviously they’re all lying”
Rock Solid@ShitpostRock2

High trust society is when you put your life on the line and hope that some stranger 10,000km away chooses the same illogical retarded option as you The entire point is that most societies are NOT high trust and will vote for their own interest. Don't trust them with your life

@Extra_Bubbles @WilliamofKent All this shows is that yes, not everyone chooses blue. At least 44% of the population is not altruistic and chooses red.

@_D_dot_ @WilliamofKent This is why blue wins polls but would fail in reality. Talk is cheap. Humans are not altruistic.

@RealPieWolf @bowlingnols @DasBarba97 Of course. The actual results may be completely different from any poll. But just as blue voters may be swayed when their life is actually at risk, there may be red voters who sway when others lives are actually at risk. It just shows what people honestly believe they’d press

@SplatAlt The bus does not exist until a majority of people press red. There is no immediate threat until someone pushes the red button.

@_D_dot_ I'll come to terms with staying alive sure. But if you willingly press the "jump in front of a bus" button, I'm not gonna feel guilty for that.

@DasBarba97 This has also been tested outside of Twitter with similar results. While it may never be fully accurate this trend is repeated in almost every instance.

@CollAlfeiran some red voters may be lying when they say they’d sacrifice their own loved ones. At the end of the day any speculation about people lying isn’t relavent to the hypothetical or its results. If nothing else this test should show you how many people have the intent to press blue

@_D_dot_ No, not ALL of them. Some of them ARE lying. Some of them TRULY BELIEVE they would have the guts to press blue. And then there are the TRUE HEROES, a minority of people. In real life, we know people lie at the polls.

@AGA_Daily I’d be interested to see the Chinese thread you’re talking about if you’ve got it? So far I’ve seen a Russian and Turkish thread with blue still winning. While there may be exceptions. The test does seem to trend towards blue in every repetition I’ve seen so far.

@_D_dot_ Not everyone uses twitter, far from it in fact In equivalent Chinese thread there’s about 80% red votes, and you know for a fact Twitter is technically banned in China Parse that as a 1 billion red votes and re-do your risk assessment

@_D_dot_ I have seen grocery store parking lots with hundreds of unreturned shopping carts. No way that many people would actually make the choice to press the blue button if there were actual stakes. It is a virtue signal, I believe people's actions over their pointless words.

@WilliamofKent If I ask you “would you save a child in a burning building even at the potential cost of your life” and you say yes, why would I not believe you? To the same extent, why is it unbelievable to assume the people who would push the button wouldn’t do so irl?

@_D_dot_ Nobody put their life on the line for a twitter poll. The don't put their lives on the line for anyone today, they won't suddenly do it if this button thing becomes reality.

@_D_dot_ High trust is basically how humanity functions and has functioned for all of history, it's why people defend others or joing the military or get on an airplane...all these red button people are just self interested and don't realize they trust people everyday.

@ASisterOfBattle @camharless @BobMurphyEcon In short, yes, logic dictates to press red. It’s the objectively best choice for those who press it. Reason, however, knows that not everyone will press blue (baby’s, senile, dumb). There for it’s a question of would I risk my life for others or risk others lives for myself?
