A Brinks armored car driver in Cobb County, Georgia was pulled over and arrested for expired tags on the truck.
Due to the company’s strict protocol the driver Tyrell Hall refused to open the door, telling police they could follow him to a secure location to issue the ticket.
Things escalated when the cops decided to arrest him instead, leading to a chaotic scene where the driver repeatedly yelled for them to get their hands off him.
Charges were later dropped, but Brinks fired him anyway. He's now suing both the Cobb County PD wrongful arrest and Brinks for wrongful termination and failing to maintain the vehicle’s tag.

@professlou @J11226 @enforcelawsNYC Yes, we do. We’ve paid for the bridges and tunnels three times over and the tolls are re-directed to the MTA, Professor. Congestion Pricing is 1% of MTA’s income; they also take a payroll tax and a cellphone surcharge.
Fuel has embedded tax; diesel more than gasoline.

The greed is insane. Apple is worth nearly $4 trillion but can't tolerate a single store with unionized workers because they're so against workers getting what they deserve.

Apple is closing down the first of its US stores to unionize. Apple says that because of the collective bargaining agreement with these workers, they "couldn’t offer to transfer them to nearby locations.” The union is outraged, and exploring options to hold Apple accountable.

@unusual_whales I got laid off by Apple yesterday- which is not an irregular thing in my industry. But there is something mediocre about that company; I do not believe they would have much success as Studio w/o the culture built around Unit Production and Sony’s vetting. They’re ruining F1, too.

Top NYC officials recently took a trip to Columbus, Ohio, to learn how that city works to deescalate protests using what they call a “Dialogue Unit.”
“The mayor is in regular conversation with his police commissioner, and our teams also meet regularly so that we can design something that is best suited to that commitment being fulfilled and not compromising any of the safety and protection that New Yorkers deserve,” Bisgaard-Church said.
