Unlike most public-sector workers, MPs' salaries have more than kept pace with inflation. The moral, as Lord Bonkers observed to me recently, is to let all workers vote on their own pay.

@SaintSwith There wasn’t enough votes to win on the motion the LibDem press office spun as a “fatal motion”. Even if that had won, it would have gone back to the commons where the Govt has a majority and pushed through. Labour won a concession in the Lords of a full review after May instead.

The chances of you falling victim to voter impersonation in a GE are the same as being hit by lightning 54 times in a row.

This is a blatant attempt by the Conservatives to prevent minority groups who are less likely to have passports or driving licenses from voting. It’s unfair & undemocratic.
