@PhilipRalph9 Yes, drama schools actively encourage the myth-making that you will be one of the special ones who actually manage to be prestigiously successful. You will be like the famous alums.

This is a huge unaddressed issue in the arts. Arguably much of the training on offer is making money from young people who will never be able to sustain themselves whilst experienced people are struggling to survive in a shrinking industry.

Well, I've done it. I've done the thing you're sposed to do. I've forced myself to write even when I don't feel like it and now I hate the work and I hate myself and it's all terrible and maybe just maybe there might be something salvageable in it when I get back to it tomorrow.

@thepursuinglife This also makes me furious, as do the reply guys in your comments. THE ABSTINENCE MESSAGE IS THE HARM. And when it's a source of trauma, people who weren't traumatised debating the finer points of theology in the comments is infuriating.
