Should the wealthy Die with Zero? Or should they leave piles of cash to children who will squander it? @JohannKurtz offers a third way: raise children worthy of their inheritance, capable of building something greater than if they had started from zero. - Why are celebrities disinheriting their kids? - Why Americans should pay attention to the example of the noble houses of Europe - What J.K. Rowling instinctively understands about the re-enchantment of the world - Why true charity is necessarily local, invested, and multigenerational - Family business as a conduit for family legacy My conversation on building families that last 1,000 years, now on Gentleman Speculator.

Logging off for 40 days to focus on prayer, family, and figuring out what the government did with the Nazi gold.

All the people I know that went to fancy schools are unemployed, unhappy, and unmarried. All the people I know who went to generic State University are employed, happy, and married. Someone explain this.

I’m a 42 year old former filmmaker. I made this in 3 days with $39 in credits because it was fun to channel the creativity I had in my 20s It entailed writing, directing, cinematography, art direction, SPFX, editing & sound design The kids will rock our world with these tools❤️

If movies are America’s cultural contribution to the world, let me make the case for Kevin Costner as our great American novelist: Field of Dreams/Bull Durham/For Love of the Game - untouchable baseball trilogy JFK - the OG conspiracy theory No Way Out - Deep State corruption Open Range/Horizon/Hatfields & McCoys - solid westerns The Untouchables - Gangsters Yellowstone/Dances with Wolves - hicklib soap operas Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - if Robin had an American accent and a black guy sidekick Who else touches this level of Americana?

I've seen my fair share of ridiculous bitcoin FUD, but I gotta say, the "Epstein did bitcoin" FUD might be the dumbest.

one of the strangest things about technology as an industry is that it refuses to use dressing well as a signal of reverence for the work so it’s forced to adopt much costlier social signaling mechanisms to display seriousness: affected accents, millenarian cults, etc
Paul Graham@paulg

@ConwayAnderson Taste in *clothing* isn't important. If your goal is to think well, clothing should just be as comfortable as possible.

All of the artists you mention have commercial appeal, of which non-profits (left wing or otherwise) structurally don't seem to lend well to cultivating. Have to imagine that Mel was mentored to some extent by George Miller and Peter Weir. Will be interesting to see if he can produce a next generation protege during this semi return to credibility.

A lot of our guys have internalized a PMC vision of art creation. No, we don't need a non-profit fund, or to be creating websites with well-formatted lists of creators. A fundamental observation: we have no geniuses. Where are they? You can spot geniuses early. They burst out of adolescence after obsessive, unpaid focus on their craft for years. Their absence in our movement has nothing to do with limited funding for self-published 30-year-old fiction writers. It has to do with education and apprenticeship. When 'geniuses' do emerge they find funding without issue. Houellebecq, Mel Gibson, Sam Hyde... The latest release of Raspail was well supported; a recent Passage Press GoFundMe crossed $100k. Funding not the core issue.

Why is the entire bitcoin media complex hell bent on going as weird bizarre niche as possible?
The Investor's Podcast@TIP_Network

This week, @JeffBooth and @PrestonPysh, together with Jack and Nick, present a groundbreaking paper exploring how Bitcoin's discrete block structure may redefine our understanding of time, energy, and entropy, bridging the gap between computational and thermodynamic physics.
