been meaning to post on here for months. kept researching the "optimal content strategy" instead of just writing anything. the irony of an engineer over-optimizing a tweet is not lost on me. anyway. building AI agents at aws, running a startup on the side, managing my own portfolio. figuring it out in public starting now.

@EvanDataForge Right now there's nothing built in. i just killed them manually and nuked the cached plugin directory. claude code needs proper process lifecycle management for plugins. shouldn't be on users to monitor this.

so i got a macbook m5 pro last week and the battery fully died in a single day. was about to rage at apple. ran top and found bun.exe sitting at 100% cpu. for 8 hours. with the lid closed. this was also the same day the axios npm hack dropped. north korean hackers. openclaw named in the advisory. i genuinely thought my machine was compromised for like 20 minutes. turns out it was a claude code telegram plugin silently spawning server processes every time a new agent session started. i had 8 sessions running. each one polling telegram's bot api in a tight loop with no backoff. just a buggy plugin burning my battery alive while i slept. if you're running claude code plugins check activity monitor. these things launch background processes with zero resource limits and they don't stop when you close the lid.

55% of my portfolio is in semis and big tech. everyone says diversify. but if you genuinely believe AI is the biggest economic shift in decades, being underweight on it is the actual risk. I'd rather be concentrated and right about the thesis than diversified and agnostic about the future.

This guy emailed me asking for a *token session refund* because his claw made mistakes. 🙃

@warikoo I started reading last year, but now I feel spending those 30 mins brainstorming & building with AI is the new meta.

I have read every day for 11 years now. Not a single day missed. 30 mins every day. Not counting the number of pages. Not feeling any pressure of completing the book. Not keeping any count. Just reading. Because of who I become, in the process.

@hiarun02 this hit me today. spent time wondering why my orders api was slow. then realized i didn’t even know the db schema well enough to optimize the query. i’d been leaning on AI to write the queries without understanding the underlying structure. felt genuinely dumb.

The real danger of AI isn’t job loss. It’s losing the habit of thinking.

my startup has one engineer. me. the backend is golang, neo4j, mongodb on azure. serves a full creator economy platform. 3 years ago this would've needed a team of 5-10. now it's one guy and claude code. the unit economics of building just fundamentally changed.

I’m pretty sure $1M in annual salary costs about $50k in tokens and human labor to replicate now.

@sweatystartup are you saying soon claude will charge its actual cost and only the rich would survive?

People can’t handle the truth. It isn’t sustainable. Switching costs are virtually nothing. The bubble will pop when the VC subsidies stop.

Some developers fell in love with writing code. I fell in love with building things. That’s why AI doesn’t feel like a threat to me. The how has changed a dozen times over my career. The why never has.

@WizLikeWizard I used it for a few weeks, felt really “productive” with all the code that I pushing, one day sat down to realise most it was not usable. Sitting down with claude code is much better for long-term.

Have been using OpenClaw for ~a month and it kinda sucks? I spend more time battling it to get basic crons fired reliably, remember things, and not repeat itself. Am I doing it wrong or are we just still very early on all of this?
