@BuckeyeNatty well human labour is why things cost money pretty much, once it's a robot doing it 24/7 without pay everything gets cheaper, hopefully right. nobody having to work again isn't bad

@rand_longevity That basically eliminates classes then. Everyone is now on the same scale giving government more control I also have a hard time believing cost of goods & services will really go down that much I just don’t see how this is a good thing at all

you probably have fewer than 1000 work mornings left after that the entire concept of waking up for a job starts disappearing

Most people have no idea what's possible over the next 18 months. - Obesity could be solved: retatrutide already produces 30% bodyweight loss, bariatric surgery results from a weekly injection - Low testosterone could stop being written off as "just aging": new data shows GLP-1s alone raise T levels and nearly double normal sperm shape in low-T men - Balding could become optional: AI-designed hair loss drugs already show dramatically different, more favorable behavior in the blood than anything on the market - Fatty liver disease could get its first real cure: DT-109 already reversed it in animal studies by repairing the gut - Solid tumors could be eliminated without chemo: a single-dose bacterial therapy already wiped out colorectal cancer in mice with one treatment - Infertility could stop being permanent: two companies are already growing human sperm and eggs from a patient's own skin or blood cells in a lab - The "undruggable" mutation behind half of all cancers could finally get a drug: p53 has been the holy grail for decades and the tools are finally catching up Most of these are already showing results in real trials. We are watching the future get approved. Bio/acc.

@BuckeyeNatty the cost of things is gonna plummet as well but i understand your point that 150k job has been lost to a robot in this scenario

@rand_longevity So what if you have someone who’s currently making $150K, but when this happens, the government now says they can only make $90K… And they have a house, car, kids, etc. Sounds scary.

@rand_longevity I honestly don't think about it. I genuinely just like to walk (always have), I work from home in a beautiful area, and I'm 5 minutes away from a beach. I've designed my life to resemble a never ending vacation.

you could be right but gen z, or anyone for that matter, has no reason to believe the government will support them financially and even if they do give out a form of ubi, id rather have some self-agency and financial independence rather than strictly relying on the government for my wellbeing therefore i accumulate as much spx6900 as possible look deeply into it, its gonna flip the stock market

@BuckeyeNatty wooah ohio my man its been a minute. so money starts losing value cause it doesnt represent human labour anymore so when the robots are doing all the human work, you tax the robotics companies and give it to the general public just like social security

The best work in science and tech is done in small, exclusive, highly motivated teams. American academia is the opposite and has become a cesspool of midwit envy. If you want great science, defund and reorganize. If you get rid of the right people, science makes more progress.

@rand_longevity Absolutely. One of the biggest advances is recognizing that the brain functions as part of an integrated system, with the heart, immune system, and metabolism continuously shaping cognitive health across the lifespan.

We underestimate how early cardiovascular health begins influencing long-term cognitive performance. In a 3.5-year prospective cohort of 73 adults, lower cardiac function predicted later brain microstructural changes linked to poorer memory. Observational evidence, yet a reminder that protecting the brain may start with protecting the heart.
