most women don’t like when a guy’s birthday is before theirs cos then the guy can gauge what he’ll do for them based on what they did (if he gets boxers & singlet gift, they get pant)
and if they decide to go big so that he will go big they might stop talking and they’ll have lost. but if theirs is before his then the guy can’t gauge and if he goes all out and they stop talking before his, they’d still come out on top.
In summary, most women are always in business

If you can understand this and why it’s extremely unkind on the lady’s part, you should also be able to understand why the “cooking” discourse sends a lot of women into a rage here.
Sometimes it’s not the cooking itself. It’s the situation surrounding it. It’s about people making it your duty. It’s about not having a say in whether you want to cook or not. Unrelated but this is a reason I’ve stopped talking to someone i was into Every time she came over, we either had to buy food, or I cook. Not once did she go into the kitchen. You’ll stay over for 2-3 days. I’ll leave the house to get the ingredients. I’ll prepare everything, make the food and she’ll eat. I’ll do the dishes too after. It was either that or I had to buy food that we’d eat. Not once did she offer to cook or make us a meal except that one time I’d eaten and she made noodles for herself. Happened 3 times and after the third time, I just let her go
