A waiter at a restaurant had the nerve to write a guilt trip note on a $169 bill saying tipping is how he pays his rent. It is beyond disrespectful to think a customer is responsible for your personal living expenses just because you chose a low paying job. If you are struggling that much, then you need to find a new career instead of begging people to fund your life.
Tipping should be a voluntary choice based on service, not a mandatory fee you try to force on me. I ripped that receipt up right in front of him because I am not a charity and I don't feel bad for his situation. It is traumatizing to see this level of entitlement from staff who should be focused on their work instead of pressuring people for extra cash.
