It is the most American act of all to criticize our government. It’s a cherished freedom of our democracy. It’s what distinguishes us from dictatorships. And it usually makes our policy outcomes better. If you support Trumps war in Iran, make a compelling argument; bring some data to support your hypothesis. But do not slander those who disagree with you as being unpatriotic or un-American. That’s how it works in Iran, Russia, North Korea, and China. We are not like them.

I own a lot of Jethro Tull. I own all of Led Zeppelin. I own a lot of Yes. But I only have a "best of" remaster for The Beatles' top-most hits. For a reason. In their moment, they were the greatest Boy Band hit machine anyone had ever seen. But they also suffered colossal audience capture as a result. And it cost them. By 1969 the stress of grinding out catchy Top 40 had doomed the project. They were neither the best musicians, nor the best song-writers. Merely, the best "product" for a radio era which demanded it of them.

I was against this war. Still am. War should always be a last resort. There was no imminent threat to US security. I am also glad that Khamenei is no longer around to kill and terrorize Iranians. One can hold both views at the same time.

Stop trying to change Putin’s mind. Change his capabilities instead. Arm Ukraine with more and better weapons, and impose tougher sanctions on Russian individuals and companies to cut off the money funding this war.

I think it is very bad that the United States did not vote for this UN resolution. Abstaining shows lack of moral clarity on our part as to who started this war and who is bombing cuties every night. We should be clearly standing for democracy, free markets and rule of law.

Howard Buffett: There hasn't been a strategy and commitment to defeat Russia. Biden's narrative was always 'we stand with you as long as we need to.' That's the wrong narrative. The narrative should have immediately been 'we will help you defeat Russia.' It needs to be the narrative today. Anybody who doesn't think Ukraine can beat Russia now is missing what's happened the last four years.

We should have sent troops when they took Crimea. We should have sent troops when they shot down MH17. We should have sent troops when they launched a full scale invasion of Ukraine. Not to keep the peace. But to make war. We used to stand for something in the West.
