Refusing to provide passwords or decryption assistance to police is now a criminal offense, covering ALL personal devices including phones, laptops, and likely hardware wallets. The rule applies to everyone in Hong Kong, including US citizens, even if only transiting through the airport. Authorities also have expanded powers to seize and retain devices they claim are linked to national security investigations. Travelers are advised to understand the risks before entering or transiting through the region.

I'll take ownership of that if you want to fire someone. This is all in the rearview mirror at this point though. The Base App is focused now on being the self-custodial version of Coinbase, and trading focused. (check the app - it's totally different as of a few weeks ago) And it's critical we have a self-custody wallet; the world is moving onchain. It would be too risky not to have some pure play bet here. Rest assured the vast majority of resource allocation is in the retail app, which is also very onchain at this point. As a $COIN shareholder, I’m deeply concerned with how @Baseapp was marketed and executed. It was pitched as the “mother of all superapps.” Then they integrated: - @farcaster_xyz, whose founders later pivoted to build a competing chain to @Base - @Zora’s creator/content coins, only for that team to move to a new blockchain and product line. These were predictable, avoidable missteps. Many of us struggled to understand why @Baseapp leadership kept pushing features users clearly didn’t want. The hardest part?
