Tokenomics must evolve too. DOT is inflationary. That’s our current trade-off: we inflate to secure the network and fund innovation through the treasury. But both of those... security and treasury are denominated in DOT. As inflation continues, DOT’s price falls, and we need more DOT to fund the same outcomes. That’s not sustainable. That’s value leakage. If Polkadot is truly the backbone of the Internet of Value, then DOT must become a store of value, scarce, credible, and appreciated over time. That means: 🛡️ Cap the max supply. 🔥 Introduce a halving mechanism. 📉 Cut inflation gradually, starting now. 🧠 Budget the treasury like a startup: fund only what’s mission-critical to JAM. Let builders build. Let the treasury support what can’t get VC funding. But don’t dilute the token that underpins the entire system. Security and innovation can be budgeted—but value must be protected. Scarce assets attract serious capital. DOT should become one.
