An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training.
In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.
The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

The expansion adds CB-5, a new purpose-built data center building providing an incremental 160 MW of critical IT load, with operations expected to commence in the second half of 2026. In connection with the new CB-5 lease, @Google will provide an incremental backstop of $1.4 billion in support of project-related debt financing and will receive warrants to acquire 32.5 million shares of TeraWulf common stock - bringing Google’s total backstop increases to approximately $3.2 billion, and its total pro forma equity ownership in $WULF to approximately 14%.
