Things is ready for Apple’s OS 26 releases 🎉 with a tastefully refreshed interface, a new app icon, better windowing on iPad, and many more improvements. Check it out → culturedcode.com/things/blog/
@culturedcode Hey! How come there’s no option with Things to set the ‘Badge Count’ to be for Inbox only? It’s something that’s bugged me for years, surely it would be real simple to add?
@culturedcode
Scrolling through X, reading about the new Mac Neo… looking of pics of the new gadget from Apple…
Look what I found on a pic, taken in an Apple Store from the Neo release…. 😃
With all going in the software world, is anyone actually still working or shipping anything @culturedcode ?
Not even meant offensive. Love things. Using for 12 years. But there hasn’t been any significant update in a while, whereas @todoist is introducing useful ai features.
I really wish @Apple would make it as easy and user friendly to move items up and down a check list as @culturedcode does…. Big props to the user friendliness of Things…
@culturedcode, do you have any plans to add a time in Today status? Ideally, nothing would sit and become stale but can happen and a nice way to motivate similar to how Linear do it with time in status.
@culturedcode Hi any idea if the Todoist Import is broken? I tried it on iPhone Air with iOS 26 and MacOS. Or has Things to be completely empty before importing
@culturedcode@jankeesvw But I want to manage my todos from a cloud-based service, i.e. Claude integration, Claude Code MCP, etc without having to buy and host a random Mac Mini with random agents on it. Build an API please. - Customer
Yes, the problem is that others would be frustrated if they set a time for one item, simply to be reminded of it at a particular time, and have it jump to a new location in the list (either the top or bottom, depending on where items with times are sent to—remember that not all items have times). We instead opted to just leave items where they are. The reminders feature in Things isn’t intended for organizational purposes, but rather just to set an alert for a time so you don’t forget to think about it at that moment. In any case, there are people who would want it one way, and others who want it another way. Thanks for your feedback!
Sort by Time within the same day
Right now, if I have tasks scheduled for today at 10 am, 3 pm, 5 pm, and 8 pm, and then I add a new task for 9 pm, it gets placed at the top instead of being reordered chronologically.
The list should automatically sort tasks by time within the same date, so everything stays in chronological order
Similar to Apple reminders which sorts by time
I request it because I use a lot of time the option to add task throw Apple shortcuts and sorting manually something are frustrating
Thanks for the reply
@culturedcode
Hi, could you consider add this type of sort?
For example I have 4 task (10 am, 3 pm 5 pm, 8 pm) and I add one more to 9 pm this task will be added at the button
Task at 10 am
Task at 3 pm
Task at 5 pm
Task at 8 pm
New task at 9 pm
@jankeesvw@aguynamedben Yes, some have created integrations already, though they risk corrupting the db. We would instead recommend pointing the LLM at AppleScript documentation which can already cover the basics: culturedcode.com/things/support…
@j0hnsmi1h Can you clarify what unresponsive means? You tap it and the app doesn’t open? or the content doesn’t update? Have you tried restarting the watch? More troubleshooting: culturedcode.com/things/support…
For the first time in decades, I'm considering going away from Things by @culturedcode.
Not because I don't like it. I love it.
Simply because I can't connect it with Claude.
Please ship this soon 🥺
