Israel has existed for 80 years. It's weird that we still consider modern Zionism as the original definition of the “right to self determination in our homeland”. It already exists. Ben Shapiro put it well. Modern Zionism is the belief that Israel should not be exterminated. This definition is not only more accurate for this day and age, but it also shows clearly how antizionism is inherently a hate movement.

There's a big lie at the heart of 'Paddystinianism' The lie — or libel — that Israel is an apartheid state akin to South Africa in the 1980s and that it can be boycotted out of existence Not only is this not remotely accurate, as anyone who spends a day in Israel can attest, but it functions as a means of demonizing Israeli Jews as "white supremacists" Putting aside the grotesque comparison of multiracial Israel to white supremacist South Africa for a moment, the fact remains that Israel is too firmly integrated into the global economy to be boycotted out of existence. Furthermore, no one in Israel is going to accede to living in a Hamas-run Islamofascist state that would murder or enslave them But there's something else going on here as well The entire 'Paddystinian' enterprise seriously believes that Ireland was responsible for the end of apartheid in South Africa and that this can be replicated for Israel, an absurd proposition by any means for anyone who has studied the National Party's decision-making in the 1980s While it is true that Ireland took a hardline toward South Africa, it simply isn't the case that the Dunnes Store Strike or other acts of political activism in Ireland were responsible for the end of white minority rule in South Africa. 'Paddystinians' will point to Nelson Mandela's praise for Irish anti-apartheid activism as proof of Ireland's leading role in the struggle. But statements such as this need to be taken with a grain of salt. Mandela emerged as a statesman who knew how to garner public support through his rhetoric Simply put, Israel is not an apartheid state. Ireland didn't play as prominent role in the end of apartheid as the 'Paddystinians' believe, and efforts to replicate the anti-apartheid movement in the quest to dismantle the Jewish State are doomed to failure because they are based on a lie
Paul Murphy 🇵🇸@paulmurphy_TD

Really disgusting this week that the government and Independent Ireland voted against stopping the game against Israel. We should not be playing against this genocidal apartheid state or the terrorists in the IDF. Israel must be isolated on the world stage. #StopTheGame

Antizionism is a hate movement...prove me wrong?
Rachel Moiselle@RachelMoiselle

Link below to an important perspective from @ShanaMeyerson about the terms antisemitism and antizionism. It was back in 2021 that I first saw someone say (after posting a slew of blatantly antisemitic content on Instagram), ‘how can I be antisemitic when I’m a Semite myself?’ I remember, especially as a linguist, laughing and dismissing this preposterous statement, which flew in the face of basic etymology. I didn’t think anyone with half a brain would ever take it seriously, yet nowadays it is a common refrain. How did we get here?

Filmed 15 years ago but could have easily been today. I've had this argument multiple times that the Jewish people are a people as well as a religion. It's wild to me that something that is so obvious to us is unbelievable to others, to the point that they actually get emotional about it.

@HendersonMullet @danielthemate I was so pleasantly surprised to see such popular condemnation of both racists and Israel, although I suppose I could have just said racists and had my bases covered. What a nice breath of fresh air compared to this Nazi algorithm app.

@DomConnors123 @danielthemate It's also an ethnicity. Jews originated from the land of Judea. The clue is in the name. And it's an ethnicity which can be identified in DNA analysis.

It was this time last year that a crazy antisemite who blamed me personally for the war contacted a former employer of mine to say he planned to show up and 'cave my head in with a hammer.' It was absolutely terrifying. I went into shock and denial for months afterwards. He also stalked me across multiple platforms, threatening to stab me, dissolve me in acid, and all sorts of other things. He did all of this using multiple profiles linked to his real name. He also attached his real name, phone number, email address, and home address to the email in which he threatened me, as well as to many of his public threats. Interesting that somebody would feel comfortable and emboldened enough to do something like this in a country that supposedly "doesn't have an antisemitism problem" @SimonHarrisTD @MichealMartinTD I foolishly shared the email and screenshots of some of the threats last year. I shouldn't have done that. There is an active criminal investigation into this matter, and sharing those screenshots or reposting any of that material could potentially hinder the investigation. I do not consent to them being shared. I'm also aware that some of the people who have been stalking and terrorising the community the past few years will pretend they never saw the screenshots, deny any of this happened, demand proof, and then claim any proof provided is fake - I have studied this behaviour and it doesn't work on me, you will not be able to trigger me into an emotional reaction. Sorry. If you don't like this post, simply scroll past it, block me, and continue with your life. Or better yet, spend your time doing something more productive than obsessing over Jews and Israel online. All the best.

These thugs fractured the spine of Sgt Kate Evans, who spoke in court of the medical and emotional trauma she still lives with. Prison is where they belong. Unlike Zack Polanski, I want serious consequences for anyone who attacks police officers risking their lives to protect us.
Zack Polanski@ZackPolanski

Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

@Alonso_GD is absolutely right! @EylonALevy indeed attached a screenshot of Corner swinging the sledgehammer at bleeding concussed security guard Nigel Shaw backing away swinging an umbrella, instead of one of the specific part he's describing and for which Corner has been convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm - when he used the sledgehammer to strike police sergeant Kate Evans in the back and fractured her spine. Corner attacked several people during the incident, so it's an understandable mix-up. 🤷 It is kind of strange though for someone so pedantic about accuracy like Alonso - that he forgot to attach the correct screenshots (or video) to set the record straight and provide the reader the full accurate information. 🤔 Surely just absent mindedness. Don't worry, Alonso. I've got you covered! Here: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@NewsCop9000 Exactly. If you have left wing extreme views on reddit you can say whatever you want. The government ignores that extremism. I've had moderators there saying that I was being antisemitic.

@danielthemate Remember the govt giving out about anon accounts (like mine) on X? They never said a word about Reddit, where ppl posting *and the ppl moderating the content* are anon. This means subs like r/Ireland can be controlled by a few anon ppl. Who could easily be Hamas or FF or FG.

One of the founding myths of 'Paddystinianism' - the antizionist hate movement in Ireland - is that the world admires them and will surely follow their lead That's what they thought would happen when they threw a giant temper tantrum over the prospect of having the Irish team face Israel in soccer What actually happened was that the game got moved to a neutral venue behind closed doors, so as to protect the Israeli players from unhinged 'Paddystinian' agitators The world doesn't look upon the 'Paddystinian' hate campaign as something to be admired, but as a cult that would gladly burn down civilization, if it would mean Israeli Jews were hurt in the process Fortunately, there is a growing number of people in Ireland who are willing to challenge the 'Paddystinian' cult and say: NOT IN MY NAME

Everything we choose to do is symbolic. We have no capacity to provide Palestinians with meaningful assistance. Their fate lies in the hands of the USA and its gulf allies. We can provide support and encouragement through our membership of the EU but no amount of boycotting Israel on our part will have any effect on their treatment of Palestinians. International opinion is hardening on Israel and we should be part of that trend, but we also have our own interests to look after too. Any foreign policy that ignores our interests will fail.

In a difficult situation, this is probably a reasonable compromise. A protest has been made against Israel’s treatment of Palestinians in Gaza & on the West Bank. It’s symbolic of course, but nothing we can do can be more than that. Our best hope of wielding influence is through the EU where opinion is shifting. @FAIreland has a duty to advance the sport in Ireland which means qualifying for the major tournaments. That involves abiding by the rules even if we don’t agree with them.

Ireland v Israel on October 4 moved to a neutral venue overseas behind closed doors FAI statement includes communication and words from Palestinian FA as part of justification for playing fixtures This is a statement that would have landed better in February

Reaction is emerging after the FAI confirmed Ireland’s Nations League home fixture against Israel will be moved from Dublin to a neutral country and played without supporters present. UEFA approved the request earlier today. #VMSport
