@wwwdotyoutube i think 2 opened me up to the rebuild project as a whole. when they announced them i had no interest and basically tuned them out because i thought the whole endeavour was pointless, but the changes that hit in 2 really engaged me and set me up to enjoy them all

@chiweethedog @MikeIsaac i liked the season overall on 1st viewing but i like it more every time i watch it. colin’s last scene by the tree trying to get the voice message through is heartbreaking

@dooooooooooooly @MikeIsaac I hated the story of his ginger kid and him being a deadbeat drunk father. Every story arc bugged me bc it wasn’t like season 1. After my 3rd viewing it clicked. The city as a character. It’s breathing alive and powerful. That father son relationship by 5th viewing made me bawl.

I liked True Detective season 2 the best of all 4

@MikeIsaac remember the acting is supposed to be pulpy and over the top. It borrows alot from Crime writer James Ellroy’s The Big Nowhere. So you can see where that touch comes from. Yeah Colin is at his depressing best. And his arc is heartbreaking.
