amazing how many people, most of them apparently men, not only hate Rothko (whose work they've probably just seen on Twitter) but "modern art" generally. sometimes Twitter is akin to a pack of baying hounds. guessing that these fellows frothing at the mouth at Abstract Expressionism are the very same folks who believe that Helen of Troy actually existed; & that, since she existed, has to be 1) white 2) not-white; & that their opinion on this casting is very important.

@JamesSurowiecki He will end up being the most popular ( “talked about” ) president in history. He will not fade into a black hole like other presidents when he finishes his term.

As I said back in 2017, Trump is unusual because he's both a terrible person and a terrible president. Most presidents over the past 60 years have been basically good guys or good presidents: LBJ terrible person, pretty good prez; H.W. Bush and Carter good people, bad presidents, and so on. (Depending on your politics, the two presidents who were both are Reagan and Obama.) But Trump is both awful as a person and totally unprepared for and bad at being president. Great combination.

This is funny. When I teach legal use of force seminars, there's a case I talk about that begins as a scuffle in a bar but proceeds to the parking lot. It ends in a shooting death. When I ask if the shooter is guilty of murder, one person in the audience will invariably say "well yeah he's guilty of murder, he was carrying a gun in a bar and that's not legal here." No, he's guilty of carrying in a bar, which is a $500 fine. Point being, even assuming this post is true, committing an infraction does not mean you suddenly forfeit all of your Constitutional rights. In use of force analysis, under the law, one factor in legal use of force addresses the proportionality of the force used to the crime being committed. Does carrying a gun illegally (in a school zone, bar, church) mean you or I can be killed and the police will be held harmless for it? Or is that disproportional to the crime committed?

Look, The President is doing everything he can to block the Epstein Files...not a thing an innocent person does, right? That should be enough for anyone that supports him in the past to jump ship alone.
