Universal High Income is welfare. There’s no doubt in my mind that it will lead toward a very dark future. Universal Human Investment on the other hand is a royalty paid out to the stakeholders, to the entire human race whose collective knowledge was used as the data set to train AI. It should be like the deed to a house. One that was transferred down a long line of ancestors to end up in your hands. They built the house. The language. The culture, the religions. They built the foundation upon which we all now stand. AI companies have taken all of that knowledge and want to pay us back with welfare checks. They will take our jobs, rob us of our livelihood, and make humans a redundant workforce. And then want to put us all on welfare. This is the darkest of all possible outcomes. It will rob humans of their dignity and purpose. Universal Human Investment, on the other hand, gives each member of the human race, each individual alive now because the hard work of countless ancestors, an investor in the future. A stakeholder in the world to come. It should be a royalty payment, paid to the owners of this knowledge. Paid to the individuals whose ancestors wrote, toiled and collated this knowledge base. It will retain human dignity and would be an appropriate thank you to all those who came before us.
