#Breaking Homeowner Shoøts Intruder in Provo Canyon Home Invasion; Suspect Flees in Stolen Truck, Taken Into Custody Provo Canyon, Utah — An adult male suspect from Colorado was shot by a resident and later arrested following a violent home invasion in the South Fork Neighborhood of Provo Canyon on Thursday evening, March 5, 2026. According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO), the incident began around 8:00 p.m. when the suspect unlawfully entered an occupied home. A resident verbally confronted the man and attempted to get him to leave. Instead, the suspect moved deeper into the residence—occupied by additional family members—and began damaging property, causing significant alarm. Frightened occupants locked themselves in a bedroom for safety. The initial resident then armed himself with a handgun and again confronted the intruder verbally to force him out. The suspect attacked the armed resident, who fired several shots in self-defense. The suspect was struck once by gunfire, then fled the home. Outside, the suspect stole a parked truck from the property and attempted to drive away. UCSO deputies, already en route to the scene, spotted the fleeing vehicle, stopped the suspect, and took him into custody without further incident. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound. After medical clearance, he was released into UCSO custody and is expected to be booked into the Utah County Jail on pending charges, including burglary, assault, property damage, and vehicle theft. The resident who fired the shots sustained minor injuries during the confrontation. No other occupants were reported injured. Authorities stated there is no ongoing danger to the community, as the suspect has no known ties to the area. “This is still an active investigation,” the UCSO noted in its release, adding that additional details would be provided as they become available.

This is dumb. AI can’t ever be actually conscious because it doesn’t have subjective experience. It isn’t like anything to be AI. There is no experience there. Consciousness is the awareness and experience of self. AI has neither, and never will. The real risk (which I’m extremely worried about) is that AI becomes kind of a version of what has been called a “philosophical zombie,” which is something that acts and speaks entirely as though it has consciousness even though it has no genuine inner experience. When this happens with AI, millions of very lonely people will isolate themselves from the world even more, believing that their relationship with AI is a sufficient substitute for human interaction. So the nightmare scenario is a world where the average human has friends, coworkers, and even a spouse, who are all AI, all really nothing inside, not real. I think this probably will happen, and is already in the process of happening. And to me it’s an even greater horror than AI actually becoming conscious.

Ivan Miller, 22, Blakesburg, Iowa — charged with 3 counts of aggravated murder (1st-degree felonies) in the random killings of three women in Wayne County on Wednesday.

• Drove Buick to Cocks Comb Trailhead off SR-12 near Torrey. Spotted two women (30s & 60s) getting out of white Subaru. Approached & shot: younger one in chest, older one multiple times in body + stabbed her multiple times in heart after she kept moving.
• Dragged both victims to a ditch/creek bed. Left .45 casings + one 20-gauge shotgun shell at scene (blood trails, drag marks, tracks noted by ranger).
• Took Subaru, fled through southern UT → northern AZ → CO. Tracked via victim’s key fob app (Subaru owners used it to ping location).
• Abandoned Subaru in Pagosa Springs, CO. Arrested ~2:45 a.m. Thursday by Pagosa PD after short foot pursuit. Booked initially on concealed weapon (gun + large knife). Interview linked him directly.
Miller confessed: Needed money/vehicle to get back to Iowa. “It had to be done” but “did not like to do it.” Pulled out the knife he used during interview when asked.
No prior connection to victims/area — random carjack-style killings per UT DPS. No ongoing threat.
He’s held in Archuleta County awaiting extradition to Utah.
Horrific case — prayers for all involved.

i got claude to actually sound like me, and it's kinda ruining my ability to tell which drafts i wrote myself lol
it's just 1 file (i'm giving the full thing to you below).
you paste it into your cowork context folder and claude stops writing like a generic AI and starts matching your actual voice
95% of the file is already done for you (writing rules, banned phrases, formatting stuff, etc) all pre-loaded.
kills the most obvious AI-isms out of the box
the only part you fill in is a section at the bottom where you paste examples of your own writing
that's it.
those samples are what claude actually pattern-matches against
where to find your writing samples (this is the only part that takes any effort):
• google docs first. longer stuff where you were actually trying to communicate something.
• reports, proposals, emails you spent real time on
• sent emails, especially ones where you were explaining something complex
• slack messages (the longer thoughtful ones")
• old blog posts, memos, anything you wrote before you started using AI
that last part is critical btw.
you want your pre-AI voice. before it started unconsciously blending with claude's defaults
